I had 5 closets built since February with Alternative Closets...same as, but cheaper than California Closets. My life has been changed.

We're dealing with a tree that was hit by lightening last Wednesday and knocked out all power, cable, telephone.

Having 12 new windows put in which are much larger than original windows. Contractor ordered 6 in the wrong size and is taking forever putting in the 6 that arrived. He also ordered the stained glass custom window wrong. So, the job will drag on to October. Aaagh.

We are having lots of fun with Toby, my mother's dog. We will be returning him to AZ this month and will miss him. Maggie has regained all of her weight and seems really healthy and happy.

We are enjoying hearth and home and reconnecting with friends who we missed when abroad. Have seen Gil and Arlene and looking forward to Penny and Ray's visit. Anyone else want to visit?

I want the corn pudding recipe too!! :banana:

Awaiting house to finish, although we are SUPPOSED to move in in about 1.5 weeks.

Olivia, I feel your angst with work! Last week was a killer for me with 6 people stuck in Boston and Newark trying to get to Austin for a client meeting with Continental's computer systems down.

Yeh, well, I'm kind of shame-faced about this. I was standing on it at the time, washing a window. Went to step off, and it tipped over. Bruised my thigh quite deeply, plus various other parts of my body. I'm really lucky I did not break something. :rolleyes:

I just installed a pair of new cordless phones!

My library card is orange & yellow and so is the Dave & Busters game card. For the life of me I could not figure out why the automatic check out machine at the library kept telling me to see the attendant at the circulation desk. In total disgust I finally went to desk. (Afterall, I am a librarian & know what I am doing). It turns out that I am actually an old woman that should put on her reading glasses & not go strictly by colors. The D & B card just doesn't work on the library's scanner. Stupid library machine!!!

I'm going to Phoenix tomorrow to shop at the Chico's outlet. :woh:

Bought lots of fresh produce from the Rockefeller farm...red carrots, golden beets, an artichoke bouquet (actually sold as flowers...I never knew artichokes had beautiful purple blooms.), freshly picked greens, tomatoes and onions all topped off with a freshly slaughtered organic chicken.

Bad news: ugggh..the air conditioning went out at the office in 100 degree weather
Good news: It's Friday and I'm going home early! (but, taking some work with me) - 4 hours to tonight's Oz performance 4 shows to go!

The air in Tony's car went out today but still under warranty - it is still very hot here

The clothes are like the stores. You will see items that were in the store only a few months before. And older items also but they may be something you are looking for.

Thanks Betty - I asked as we have a Brooks Bros outlet there too - they admit that their outlet clothes are different from their NYC stores -

Me too Olivia. I grew up watching my grandmother & my aunt "take down" a chicken. They would make me pluck the feathers. I didn't know any other way for several years. No problem with eating them & at that time there was no choice but to eat.

Betty, we alays had chickens, but only for the eggs. Guess my mother didn't have it in her. Neighbor's housekeeper did, however. Watched those things run around with their heads cut off! Didn't they boil them before the feathers came off? Do you know we are in the last generation to ever remember this??? Makes me feel OLD!!!

Betty - I'm curious as to what you do with the Dave and Busters game card. I'm enjoying the thought of watching you play Virtua Fighter or some other arcade game surrounded by Gen Y boys. :)

I've never watched a chicken get slaughtered. I'd still eat it though. :D

Tomorrow morning at the crack of dawn, I have to be at the golf course. I am volunteering for my girlfriend's golf outing for special needs kids. My duty, I drive the beer cart :)

This is the 9th year for the "Bloody Mary Open" and she has raised nearly 100k for special needs.

Suzie, I actually played in it one year with 4 of my girlfriends. Now we get to wear these t-shirts every year with pride. You can see why I choose to drive the beer cart!
