Those sort of phising emails are very common. And they can look very very good..so real looking.
You did the right thing.
Never click on the link in the email. Just call your bank, credit card company or whomever using a phone number that you have on your card or a statement.
Also, Never, never, never enter your passwords or account id or any identifying info on a link in that email.
Just common sense for most of us, but these emails can look so real that it can be easy to slip.
