Bert and I are looking forward to seeing Al and Betty and Peggy and Jerry tomorrow night at our home in Naples. We have a great dinner planned. Maybe we will even share some single malt scotch and open a few bottles of wine! Always fun to see LCT friends. cheer

Uh, oh! Now I'm getting nervous -- I don't think anyone (other than a suck-up daughter-in-law) has called my cooking 'fabulous'!!

We're looking forward to Peggy & Jerry's arrival tomorrow. Al's even washing windows today! They're only here for a couple of days, in between cruises. But we leave for ICE on Monday, too.

Yes, it's always great to see LCT friends. To think that for years we usually cruised alone -- now we deliberately look for trips with the people we enjoy. This LCT group has been a VERY lucky find! We really had a good time with Mitch and Bert on Panda. Yet another couple to add to that list of people we look for on a trip.

See you tomorrow evening, Bert & Mitch. I even have a map printed to go with your directions --

Betty

We are looking forward to this, Betty. Joanna, the next time we will meet you half way over and have a BBQ in the everglades! We wish you and Tom were here, too, Marcie.

Hi Marcie,

No, we've cancelled B2B. We're trying to do way too many trips already. And then those pesky things like kids, grandkids, and the beach get in the way! Plus, there's always that reality that the vacation budget is NOT a bottomless pit!

I was really looking forward to B2B, mostly because of the group. The other attraction was three days in Venice without having to deal with the exhorbitant hotel rates. But, choices had to be made. I HATE those choices!

Hopefully we'll see you and Tom again soon. I choose to think it's inevitable that we'll be on the same trip again before too long.

What a perfect evening-great weather, perfect guests. Bert outdid herself with the food and we were thrilled to have Jerry and Peggy, Betty and Al here to ahare our home and a little Naples hospitality. It was the least we could do before Betty and AL leave on ICE! By the way Eugene, we had a '98 BV Special Reserve Cabernet and a '98 Raymond reserve Cabernet with our T-bones. We are only sorry all our LCT freinds could not be here to celebrate with us! Here are 2 pictures, ickuding what may be the only picture of Betty to ever appear on LCT.

I had to look at this off topic post. Sounds like a great evening and wonderful pictures! Great food, fantastic wines and perfect company, how can it get any better.

How fun is that? Glad you all enjoyed a get-together. Mitch, those are some wonderful bottles that snuck out of the wine cellar for a wonderful dinner.

When's the next event? :D

Cheers, Anne

It was a truly fabulous dinner -- a salad with strawberries! Mashed potatoes baked with sundried tomoatoes, asparagus, perfectly grilled (huge!) t-bones. All this was topped off with a sinful chocolate dessert -- brownie with chocolate sauce and ice cream -- trust me, that feeble description does not do it justice. And of course Mitch picked perfect wines. I don't think any of us will need to eat at all today -- I know I'm still full.

The best part was all the fun we had. Mitch and Bert have a beautiful home and a big round dining room table that was perfect for conversation. They have two really fun dogs -- Fred and Ethel -- who are obviously spoiled rotten. It's just amazing how you can get together with LCT people and it's just like you saw them yesterday! I was astonished how late it had come to be when we finally left.

Thanks enormously, Mitch and Bert! We'll look forward to seeing you after ICE --

Betty

I'm posting from Al and Betty's guest room. We've had a great time watching the waves from thier condo in Bonita Springs--what a view!!!! On top of that, we had the fabulous dinner at Bert and Mitch's. We loved the food and their beautiful house with a swimming pool in the entry way. What a treat! We'll be headed back to Fort Lauderdale this afternoon so Al and Betty can get ready for ICE. We'll be off on Celebrity to the Panama Canal. We'll be cruising until it starts to warm up at home around the middle of February. We figure that cruising is the best way to stay warm in the winter :D .
