No one is going to write you a ticket if you gain a few pounds, Marcie. Don't miss a meal!!

MarnaLou, so funny! Marcie is so teeny-tiny, a few pounds are not going to make a bit of difference!

Paul, interesting that the Veranda had waiting, and presumably CRose did not. Actually, this is a reasonable expectation, given that so many are on the ship for a very long time. Is La Verandah more "get in-get out"? Or do you think pax were trying to avoid a dress code after so many days at sea? Or perhaps just the right night where many wanted a "change" all at the same time?

I'm on a roll!!! After getting the straight flush last night, I entered the BJ tournament today...winner! After this was the slot tournament...winner!! I think I'm more excited about winning the 2 tee shirts than the tournament prize $ (well, maybe not!). The tee shirts are cute. On the front it has the Radisson logo and says "Radisson Seven Seas Cruises" then on the back it says:

M/S Seven Seas Voyager
World Cruise 2005
Casino Tournament Winner

Maybe I should skip dinner and just hang out in the casino! :D Anyway, another fun day! Tonight we're meeting Irving and Maria & Sandy and Dennis for dinner in LaVeranda. I haven't seen Paul all day! I'll have withdrawls and have to email him!
Betty is an avid reader and loaned us a book that Tom already started. She brought lots of books to read and donate to the library when finished...good idea huh? Bonnie, I'm so happy to know the scale in the gym fluctuates..maybe that's the problem! Maybe I'll wear one of my new tee shirts to the workout class in the morning. I'm loving these sea days, no problem here! Tom is doing great with them too...even without Tony and Lawrence here.

If anyone is looking for me, I'll probably be in the casino!

I have to confess that today I overdid the 'lounging in the sun' routine. Despite the clouds, my face is beet red! But the good news is that squeezed into that 415 lbs of luggage was a bottle of Aloe Gel.

Al's been winning at Blackjack, too -- I've no complaints when he plays twice a day when he keeps winning! I've only played once so far, I've had much too strenuous a schedule for such folly! But I am up $50 -- which is always preferable to down.

Lamb for dinner tonight!!!!! YUM!!!! (Last night was an excellent grilled salmon steak in Compass Rose.) Also tonight -- Grand Marnier Souffle -- I must thank the people of this board for teaching me to ask for that!

I'd better go get ready for dinner

Speaking of the book donations - I was surprised the library on all ships did not have tons of paperbacks - I brought atleast 8, read them and left them assumiong they would be put in the library - YES??? NO?? Does anyone know? Would hate to think they are thrown out -

This is the reason they need to hire me as their floating librarian. I would keep that place in tip top shape. They should especially have someone on the WC.
In all honesty Joanna, I have been to several resorts or resort cities that have a paperback section on the honor system. No checking out. Many people keep the pbks but many return or donate what they have already read. It tends to even out. At the Vail library I can still see books I donated 10 years ago, and many that were given the year before - gone forever.
I don't know the RSSC policy, but if you actually take them to the library & not leave them in your room, they have a better chance of finding a home. I am sure the staff will take them, although I can't imagine when any of them have time to read.

Great to read all your reports on the World Cruise. They brighten up what would otherwise be a dull day!

Marcie, if the scales say you're gaining weight, try leaning on something while you're on them - works every time!! Always remember that muscle weighs more than fat!!

Marcie, why are you stepping on the scales?!! Besides, you're gaining muscle with all that working out, like Lee said! :) Congratulations on your casino wins...you'll need to visit several times a day with your lucky streak.

You , Betty, and Paul continue to have fun on our behalf.

Marcie,

The weight you are gaining is from all the change in your pockets weighing you down.

How many played in the tournements? There were over 35 in the Slots and and 30 in Blackjack on our last Navigator cruises. Very fun!

Keep Winning and Keep Posting!

Marcie, Paul, Betty; good work on taking time to post..we love them..

Joanna, Betty; when I was on the Navigator I worked a deal with the CD, swapped out the new
Baldacci book for one of the library books I liked..

La Varenda is a little more "get in and get out" than compass Rose is. Even on just a 17 day cruise there were nights we wanted dinner quicker than 1.5 to 2 hours. But the food is still quite good and the service is certainly up to Radisson standards even if you can manage dinner in an hour or so.

Marcie, I need to take you to Vegas some time. You go girl!!! And how in the world could you tell you put on 2 pounds? When ever I stepped on the scale it calmly swung along a 10 pound range and never settled. I just used the middle number as an average but I never got a good reading.

I had a Scuba diving magazine I gave to the reception desk and they seemed grateful to put it in the library. I'd imagine if you actually give it to someone the book stands a chance of getting in there. They do code them somehow with color stickers.

Marcie, Paul, and Betty - Thanks so much for the updates! I'd say that it is almost as good as being there, but you know darn well it's not! You all are sweet to allow us to take a vicarious cruise with you! Have you all signed on for the 06 world cruise yet?

Hi guys! I have a little break in my daily activities to say hi! We went to B2B excercise classes this morning (Tom drags me to these!) then had breakfast outside in LaVeranda (yummy french toast!). Then I played bridge for an hour. At 1:15 today we have the Equator Crossing Ceremony (we're "pollywogs" since we've never crossed the Equator by sea...actually in our case we've never crossed it period!). I'm not sure what to expect. One lady said they put whipped cream in her hair! Hmmmmmm...guess we'll find out what this initiation is but I sure hope it doesn't involve whipped cream! I can't believe we're within hours of entering the Southern Hemisphere!!

Last night we ate in LaVeranda with Sandy (sandracruiser) & Dennis and Irving (Irv) & Maria. Good company and great giant grilled shrimp! Then caught the latter part of the show with a 2 time Tony nominee gal with a terrific voice, then visited the casino. I guess I must have lost the magic touch...didn't win (but held my own for the most part). Tom had a REALLY hot roll at the craps table so last night he was the big winner!

Marc, I've inquired about your wine question (merlot cabernet or shiraz blend) but yet to get an answer. Two sommeliers think I'm requesting wine, and don't understand I'm just inquiring. They're a bit confused. Help me out...I'm obviously not asking the correct question!

Bobbi, I like your advice of not giving up the desserts!! I think you're on to something!

Tonight is the AmEx cocktail party...like all Radisson cruises it seems that we could be at a cocktail party everynight. I suspect we'll pass on this one.

Jill has been great about emailing me. All 5 pets are doing well at home! I love my kitty that Paul gave me...always brings a smile when I see her on our bed. Sounds like it's rained everyday since we've left! Thank goodness the auto timer on the sprinklers was turned off or our house would be floating away by now.

Wish you all were with us!!

Marcie,
I am enjoying your reports from the ship. They have been great! Congrats! on the BJ winning.
Don't forget that the first couple pounds of weight is from the salt that they use in the food to prevent seasickness. I learned that a few years ago. I returned back to my normal weight within just a few days from the Christmas cruise.
Cheers.

Marcie,

Sounds great - keep on posting! Whipped Cream sounds pretty decadent to me - I thing that RSSC is more refined than that kind of "college prank" but we'll have to wait for your report.

Still a deluge here. Good thing you've missed it.

Marcie - is Jamie Logan the cruise director? Gary got "initiated" on behalf of the rest of us (along with Bruce & Marilyn) during the Equator Crossing on our South American cruise. Thank god for the Pisco Sours to get through it all. Cheers, Anne

This former polliwog was initiated on the circumnavigation of South America. Since it was done twice, on the second "initiation" I was able to sit and watch. I have two photos that Anne took of me as an extra memento.
