Things are still rocking along, he's getting better by the day. Now they are trying to get him into an acute rehab facility (hopefully in Memphis), once the social worker manages to find that one person who has the COBRA information. He has lost 55 pounds, thank goodness he was a big guy and could lose that much, but I never though I'd see him with bony legs.

Everything is in place for transfer to an acute rehab facility in Memphis. We thought it would happen today, but as of yesterday afternoon, they hadn't acknowledged that they had space for him.
He still doesn't realize how weak he is, but he is beginning to. And the doctors/nurses here aren't sitting on their hands, waiting; they continue to move forward as much as they are equipped to do.
He is truly a "miracle man", he beat some really high odds.

The Memphis rehab didn't happen, but he is on his way to a rehab facility in St. Louis. I'll try for a reasonable fare soon to fly up and see how he's doing. I have faith that he'll get his strength back soon, then I'll take him home with me and spoil him for a few days.
