Jack, Baily is so cute!! He resembles my Mr. Magoo (he's a Shitzu, not likely a purebred... with crooked teeth.) It looks like Baily has the same window seat in your home as Mr. Magoo has in ours! A big welcome to Baily! MANY of us here are pet owners! Do you see a resemblance?

Both Baily and Magoo are adorable. I've never seen a Havenese in a puppy cut since I've only seen them at a dog show. Very cute. They are on my list of breeds I considered before I got Daisy.

Marcie, not all purebred dogs do conformation (the beauty pagent of purebred dogs) so the others have crooked teeth, extra toes, the wrong color i.e. lack of perfection for the current dog breed standard. Daisy didn't have the opportunity to be shown - she has a slight overbite and a crooked tooth!

Hi I have been lurking on this board for many months. I really got hooked during Pet Lover's world cruise. I am a working lawyer (but still have friends!)I am originally from NY but have lived in So Cal for 25+ years. My husband and I are leaving on 9/24 for the RSSC Tokyo - HK cruise. This will be our 2nd RSSC cruise, we were on the Baltics cruise last August. Before that 2 other cruises to the Med and Alaska on main line cruises. We are booked for next Aug on SIlverseas Copenhagen to Norway. Thanks to this board I was able to get our fare reduced to the current 50% off fare! Thanks guys! We try to get in at least one cruise and one land trip a year but have to work, so time is limited. But we are doing our best to see it all while its still there!

Ms. Understood, I look forward to meeting you on the Tokyo-HK cruise. I too am a lawyer, but we'll try to forget all about that for a couple of weeks.

Ms. Understood, I'm one too, and so are others on this board, my intro is way up on an early page of this thread to explain it. Anyway, I too have friends, especially from this board! Like Crystal, we try to forget that, as it is these days something left unmentioned, although I am proud of the work I do.

Hi Ms Understood

Welcome to LCT! Glad you came out from under wraps! I am NOT a lawyer too but I have many clients in the field of law. Anyway, my field is financial consulting so I am glad we could save you a few $$$$$ on your cruise.

I am a So. Calif. neighbor. We try to include all the So Cal LCT'ers when we have a gathering. We're due to plan one sometime soon.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I have enjoyed lurking here because you all seem genuinely fond of each other. I live in Diamond Bar, much closer to Pet Lover than ChatKat. And my name is Helen. (MsUnderstood was/is a friend's stage name in a drag show and it always made me laugh)Anyway, thanks for all the unwitting advice/info over the last few months, maybe I can contribute some soon.

Hi Everyone,

My name is Boue {short for Mary Anne} and my husband's name is Harry. I've enjoyed reading all your coments for a while now and finally got the courage to jump in and join you all. Harry and I have been on three previous cruises starting with Carnival and got hooked right away. This October we will be going on the Paul Gauguin to Tahiti for seven wonderful days and nights. We are so excited we can hardly stand it! We are open to any and all suggestions, coments etc. to add to the fun of it. This cruise is in celebration of our anniversary {27th} and my birthday {gulp 60}. We have three children who we are very proud of. Our oldest son is married to a beautiful young woman and they just had their first child. Our middle son just entered into law school and our daughter is in college and works as a dental assistant. Now if I could only get our dog and five cats to graduate and get jobs that would be it. As you can tell we also love animals and each one is a rescue.
I rambled on enough now so I will say good by for now. Happy cruising to all of us even if it is in our minds like it is in mine most of the time! Boue
P.s. Anyone one else going on the Paul Gauguin on October 15th of this year?

"Boue" is just one of those childhood nicknames that never goes away. Guess I'm stuck with it but it's confortable. Did you get one pinned on you when you were little?

When I was small and our family lived in New Jersey for a short while, I lived next to a little Caucasian girl and we used to play together. She had the hardest time pronouncing my name and decided that she was just going to call me "Michael" instead one day. :) Other than that, can't recall any other nicknames I picked up along the way.

In high school, people called me "brillo pad" or just "brillo" because I used to have a really short buzz cut.

And welcome, Mary Ann. I seem to be the queen of hijacking topics on the board. Glad you have joined us. It really is a gret board.
