We need a 'Nice' hotel for 'Nice'. Can anyone help with a suggestion? Nothing over the top and preferably in a good position. Thanks in advance. Lee

Hi Lee. I stayed at the Meridien in Nice and thought it was great. It's in a prime location across from the beach, 1 Promenade des Anglais.
It's a Starwood hotel so if you have Amex platinum with Starwood Gold status you may get an upgrade. We got a corner room with a wrap around balcony overlooking the coast line. It was very memorable.

We just booked Le Meridien for our Oct. cruise. I am told that the rooms have been redone recently and, as Tom says, the location was a real plus!

Hotel Le Grimaldi, 15 Rue Grimaldi in heart of Nice - stayed about 5 yrs ago. Nice room with french balcony cost was reasonable - best to Tripadvisor it.
