I just may check it out and suggest a change. Dreyfus's and Giustos don't arrive until around 4pm and it would be easier to just cab to a hotel quickly, and use the transfer to the ship the next day. But......Dreyfus's were just in Nice a year ago, so may prefer MC in which case we will just stay put.

We're still staying in Monte Carlo since we were in Nice last fall and the Le Meridien in Monte Carlo is a much nicer hotel than the one located on a busy, noisy street in Nice. Hope somebody stays over there with us, but if not, we'll eventually see everyone on the ship :)

Peggy, I'm sure that we, the Giustos, Glanvilles and Dreyfus's will be there. That is where we are booked and I doubt we will change. We don't however arrive until the 8th.

We have been in Nice twice and visited MC twice - I agree the MC hotel looks lovely but we get in the 7th at 3 PM so I just want to go to Nice hotel and chill and have a fun late Nice dinner - then get to ship the 9th - can't go wrong with either choice

Agree Joanna, and if we were coming sooner we would choose Nice, but Frank and I are doing Paris for three days, and that we are excited about as we have not been there. All about choices, can't do it all......hmmm even though we'd like to. LOL.

Has anyone noticed that this must be the longest running thread ever? Started in May 2006!

Just to throw in a zinger, Karen and I (along with Todd and a friend) after a cruise one year (we called it OO7) stayed in Haute de Cagnes in a little hotel called the Hermitage as well (I think that was the name) It was in a little hill town very close to the Nice airport. One of the most fun adventures of my travels, ever.

Olivia, that wasn't the name, the name was the same as another hotel in Nice and we booked it by mistake. I am glad we made that mistake! I can't think of the name though???

You have to be careful about the bookings - we loved Grimaldi in Nice had GREAT GREAT room etc but there was another Grimaldi so had to be watchful of bookings with similar names

My thinking got confused, Chat Kat mentioned Hermitage and I wrote the wrong name. I knew what it was, had been to that town before with my daughter and just loved it. Maybe you were confused, Karen, but I had the website. Loved it! The worst part was toting the luggage up a billion steps! (Come to find out, the driver could have taken us to the back door)

We were one our own to get luggage to the room as well, and stored it somewhere downstairs. Maybe the kitchen. No lift, just a spiral stairway. Karen's room was a garrett with a balcony. I remember I brought the remains of my "included" in-room bottle from the Voyager back in the days before all inclusive. The staff left at maybe 10 p.m., and gave us keys to get back in after dinner. A once in a lifetime experience. Love those kind!

Here is a picture that Olivia took of me and Joanna resting at the top of the steps at Hotel Grimaldi and one of our room with a fireplace and terrace that overlooked Grimaldi castle. Not a hotel to stay for the unadventurous but one I will never forget!
