Hi,

My parents are going next month to Buenos Aires and want to make arrangements for a driver to pick them up at the airport. Their flight arrives very early in the morning( around 5AM) and they want to make sure there is somebody waiting for them.

If anybody has used such a service in Buenos Aires I would appreciate the info. Thanks!

Hi Claudia,

Thank you so much, but when I click on the link it gives me an error message that the site is "unknown". Could you double check the link for me?

Thank you again!

Maria - There was a small typo. The company is defrantur, not defractur ("defractur" might be appropriate if you plan to break any bones on the trip, however).

On CC, there is a lot of good posting about this company; so Claudia certainly has company in her recommendations for this company. We're probably going to use them in two weeks when we arrive in BA before going on PENGUINS-POP.

Oh Fred, will you promise to post from the ship if you can?? I had to cancel this cruise, just way too $$$$ for just me to do, as single supp. was 100%. I am dying to hear about the new fabrics for the clothes you are bringing, and how they worked out for you, as well as all the other news from the ship! Just be sure you don't talk "down" to those of us doing Regent's cruise next year on the Explorer II!

Olivia, dearest - Considering that we couldn't really afford this cruise, even without the single supplement (the rear deck replacement just will have to wait another year...), we would never think of talking down to anyone who is taking the Explorer II cruise instead of the Hanseatic cruise. If this Hanseatic itinerary was not available, we would be on ICE with you. I will certainly try to post from the ship. It won't really be a "post", as the ship does not have internet access. Rather, if we can get through, it will be an email to someone (perhaps Karen???) who will then post that message onto LCT. We will have an email address and will have to deal with the German keyboard. As far as the high-tech fabrics go, I will post a review of the cruise and the undies when we return. Ah, tales of penguins and capilene long-johns, what more could LCT want??

Fred: If it is choice between new appliances, deck redo, landscaping, we always go for the cruise - Joanna :D

I've contacted the company who coordinated our last South America Trip - so far they have said they can do transfers, but no price yet. Will post when I have a price - otherwise, their arrangements were flawless.

editing to add:
Today I purchased a few items that will work for skiing as well as Antarctic landings - very comfy, light, not itchy, merino wool - company is Icebreaker - click here

Hi Maria,

I was going to suggest the same company as Claudia and Fred suggested. We have very good friends from Argentina whom I asked for you, and they suggested them, as well.

Kathy,

I think you've posted your info on binoculars on the wrong thread. Leslie was sharing her info on merino wool ski clothes and Maria is asking for help finding a limo service for her parents in Buenos Aires. :)

I'm reading both threads - nothing like veering off topic - from airport transfers to merino wool to binoculars! thanks for the links - I will take a look.

Well a response on a wrong thread is better than no response at all! At least there was an answer in a place she'd find it!!

You're welcome, Maria. Hope it works out well for your parents and they have a wonderful time in Buenos Aires. This is a destination our Argentine friends keep trying to persuade us to visit with them. Hopefully, we'll join them sometime soon. So much of the world to see and so little time and funds!
