We will be in Barcelona overnight and are considering going to the Dinner and Flamenco Night at Tablao Cordobes offered through Barcelona Day Tours. Have any of you gone to Tablao Cordobes and would you give it a thumbs up? Is there somewhere else that you would recommend? If anyone has used Barcelona Day Tours, were you happy? Thanks for any help you can give.

Caroline - We attended the show at Tablao Cordobes about 5 years ago. If you have not seen a flamenco show, it is probably worth doing, although I don't think that the dinner option looks too good. It's a cold buffet. However, the guests who are there for the dinner may get first choice at the seats in the theatre showroom, which is not a trivial factor in assessing the evening.

Unlike the flamenco shows we've seen in Madrid, which were in a nightclub setting, with the guests seated at tables, the show at Tablao Cordobes is sort of a theatre style, with the audience sitting in extremely hard (painfully uncomfortable) wooden chairs which are pretty much crammed together tightly. Therefore, if taking the dinner option would give you the choice of a good front row seat, that is something to consider seriously.

Despite the dreadful seating arrangements, the performance itself was quite good.

We made our reservations online directly with the theatre. You would be wise to compare that option to the price offered by BDT.

Thanks, Fred. We saw a flamenco show years ago and, given your description of the seating, will have to take a closer look at whether this is something we really want to do in Barcelona. I'll keep researching evening options.

The price of tickets is the same through BDT as buying directly from the theater; their profit comes from providing transportation.

I agree with Fred about the Tablao Cordobes. If you have seen Flamenco before the seating there made the show not worth doing a 2nd time. We will be in Barcelona next month and chose not to go again.

Thanks, ChatKat. We've decided that we'll have an evening out on the town instead of going to Tablao Cordobes.
