Huh, interesting observations. I've never felt like the atmosphere was clubby, i.e., that there were so many loyal cruisers that I felt left out. (But then again I do enjoy re-meeting staff members that we've seen on another cruise.)

The food though, wow! That's certainly not the Voyager that I remember (only been on her once), at least not Compass Rose. Sounds like the dining room staff was having a bad week!

As for the nuts, didn't they have the ubiquitous little white narrow-necked things that looked like vases on the tables? There were always nuts in them.
