Awesome pics and reporting, Ngaire.

Here is some more SCOOP DU JOUR -

January 23:
Morgan!

Ja, now we will talk a bit about the food.... the consensus is that it is very good. Lavish breakfast buffet and menu serevd in 2 venues, the
main restaurant and the Columbus Lounge. Yesterday's lunch was an excellent tapas buffet, with hot & cold dishes, including paella. The dinenr menu chanegs daily, and there is an a la carte menu if you don't want anything on the main menu, or you can mix & match. No problem ordering
double portions, smaller portions of a main as appetiizer, etc. The lobster tails the other night were fabulous. The service is sort of spotty, but I think that is more a function of how many people are eating at once plus some cultural and language barriers. Our waiter, Bjorn, is quite efficient and friendly.

The big curiosity is the 'ethno' restaurant option, available on some evenings. It is a mystery just what the theme or menu might be, however you are asked to make your reservation 24 hours in advance. After 2 days of sleuthing Brad & Fred finally obtained yesterday's menu -
'Argentine cuisine', which didn't sound terribly exciting. Hoping for something better for today we made a reservation for tonight, which we now have determined will be 'food of the Falklands'... we also have learned that the 'themes' will be relaated to the area we are sailing in so we are eagerly waiting to see future 'ethno' menus to see just what Antarctic
cuisine might entail - sea leopards, seals, penguins, all the things that sustained Shackleton for years? Stay tuned. We will report in after tonight's Falkland extravaganza - there are mussels on the menu, so that is good!
