No problem, D! Eeek on the phone drop - hope the damage was minimal. As an aside, the screen on the iPhone is pretty scratch resistant. The best "side effect" of the screen protector is smudge reduction. I found I was constantly cleaning the screen of finger marks and oil. I do not even carry the chamois anymore. Edit to add: Here is a link to the case I have. It adds a little bulk but I think it offers excellent protection and accessibility to the screen, ports and switches/buttons. Price is a little stiff but I am very happy with it.
