Marnalou, Ruth sounds like the perfect candidate for the harem. In this group you have to speak your piece at all times - she may, in fact, be the woman of my dreams, eventhough I am most happily married to the Saint. In a most diplomatic way - something, I have absolutely no experience with, please ask her if she'd like to join.

Marty. Dear, dear Marty.
Be very careful what you ask for. You just might get it.
Ask Paul59 (he hasn't started posting here, but maybe he just needs a little encouragement) what happened when he was seven minutes late for their dinner together. It wasn't pretty. :)

Marnalou - looking forward to meeting Aunt Ruth!
Lawrence - and congrats to the newlyweds joining us on MINT too!
This is going to be a blast, guys! (and I have to say, this is the biggest group that I've ever been on a cruise with) :)

Are you arriving a day early? Will you be staying at the Westin LAX via Priceline at $60????

Marnalou, You and your aunt will fit into this group just oh so nicely! When Paul59 arrived late for dinner, I can just see aunt Ruth's reaction. A gentlemen never keeps a lady waiting, and she reacted to that. Boy, I wish I'd been there - it must have been a beaut! If Paul59 is "learning" these threads, I wish he'd chime right in and tell us all just how bad it was... It would be a "learning" experience for all of us.
I got to tell you I just love feisty little old ladies! I think it's a bit like those people who go out and trap wild poisonous snakes - they know they're going to get bit, but they just can't stay away - the mystique is just too great. (I know somebody's going to scream at me for comparing little ole ladies from Pasadena to poisonous snakes, but since I don't know any little ole ladies, I hope I'll be pardoned.) I only know quality ladies of great charm and beauty!
Anyway, you and your aunt will, I personally guarantee, have a great time on MINT. No meanness here, just tons of laughter and good times!
I know I'm gonna visit that dog house again, but the mystique is just too great! I'm gonna get burned, but I don't care! I get too much fun out of it.

It's an interesting predicament we're in: Although if we keep signing up more and more people, Radisson is going to think MINT is a hot-seller and therefore have little incentive to provide any new promotions like the $99 single supplement.

Aunt Ruth believes promptness is a sign of respect and she re-educated Paul59 on that basic element of etiquette. I shared this thread with Paul59, and he laughed, "Beware the wrath of Ruth!!" But he remembers the incident, and Aunt Ruth, with great fondness. I look forward to meeting you and the other nearly 50 LCT folks who will be on the Mariner this November. What a grand time we will have!! MarnaLou

Marnalou, What a pistol aunt Ruth must be!! I can hardly wait to meet her. Paul59 was cast into the fire! I can just see it now! Boy oh boy, am I going to have fun with aunt Ruth - only nice things,- but I can't wait to hear some of her verbal barbs! I may need a protector - hope you'll jump in and fill that role. In any event, MINT will be fantastic!

When I met our beloved Marty I told him about this crazy and wonderful group of people on Cruise Critic (Ngaire's board wasn't a "twinkle" yet). I told him he would really enjoy the board and the people. He reacted somewhat like Ngaire did when I told her about CC..."sounds nice, but I really don't have the time". I think between the two of them they have logged more "miles" than the rest of us put together!! Just shows to go ya, this chick's ideas aren't ALWAYS as nuts as people like to think!!!! :D ;) :D

Monster? No reply required. Just don't forget to bring the tape of your 2nd appearance on that game show - I want to see how it came out. You realize that your monster remark reduces your jewelry gift substantially. Karen will be the beneficiary of your smart allecky remark - atta girl Karen! We're talking serious stuff now... To the Sheik and fellow harem members:
Going through my guest room closet, I ran across a few old Halloween costumes. Guess what is one of them?????? A beautiful red Genie costume, complete with vail, head-dress, genie pants and top!!! I believe one of you should wear it at your first LCT/CC cocktail hour   Any takers? And, if no one volunteers, I suppose the Sheik will just have to order one of you to wear it :D :D

Kimmi, Beloved of the harem! Why don't you bring it with you? I told you we had room for you, so you'll be needing a costume....I would much rather see you in your own costume!!!

Well we all are wondering why you want to SEE KIMMI in her own costume?? Could it be you favor her youth and lovely figure? Sheik you must be careful with your comments - women scorned are hell to deal with - so Marcie is "out" and Karen "in" for the jewelry - WATCH OUT - Joanna

Ladies, Ladies, You totally misunderstand me! Kimmi should wear her own costume - that's all I meant. She should not have to give her costume to someone else, because I want Kimmi and Mr. Kimmi on the MINT Cruise. This was my method of getting them onto the ship! Do not read anything other than this into it!
Joanna, stop being a trouble maker! I never said Marcie was out for the jewelry and Karen was in, what I said that Marcie's smart allecky comment about creating a monster - me - would cause a reduction in jewelry received. I never said she was out, you have, once again, misinterpreted what I've said. Marcie is so special, I know she'll be most happy with her gift. It could have been greater/larger/more expensive, but then we have Miss Nasty Comment to account for.
Now as far as my beloved Sheri is concerned, why do you let these little doubts creep into your beautiful mind? You know just how special you are to me, and there is no cause for any green eyed monsters to be lurking about. I remain true blue and loyal to the end for my ladies. Sheri, you know where you stand in the harem ranking, and should not worry a bit.
Now, with that, I believe I've gotten myself out of any difficulty someone would have perceived I was in - I'm telling you it aint no picnic having to manage a harem!!!
The Sheik

Well sheik - you think you can schmooze your way in with the younger ladies but you're dealing with the reality of an older "seen those kind of sheiks" woman in your harem - you simply cannot have it all ways Marty...and yes I am a trouble maker - remember I am Irish - joanna

Are kids on this cruise called "Junior MINTs"?
Will the bar mix "MINT Juleps"?
Will the restaurants serve "After Dinner MINTs"?

The Mint Julep Party is at my home in Houston on Derby Eve - 1-3 PM. Derby Hats optional. I don't think some of these women are going to have any idea what hits them after only 1 sip. Todd is known for the Cosmos. Betty, it is Mint Juleps. Of course I have alot of help from Makers Mark - but then there is the Betty secret ingredient. Unfortunately, the donation that was required to attend doesn't make it worth the flight. And I only had to donate the party. And don my hat! BTW - half my RSVPs have had to ask what a Derby hat is, so I am expecting, derbies, bowlers, or who knows what. It should be fun.
Todd, you stick to your speciality & I will stick to mine. Your julep could never match mine anyway - but I do bow to the king of the Cosmos.

Good grief - someone will probably show up in one. I will have the digital camera working overtime that day. Hopefully, Clay will be in town to act as bartender. I will probably also need to have a bank of taxis at a moments notice. Or an EMS crew at the end of the street.
