When we cruised on the Navigator, we didn't see very many large group tables. Mostly couples and 4 tops. We are traveling with 8 people and would probably like to dine together during the week. I didn't think the Navigator main dining room took reservations. I can't remember. We are going on the Voyager and wondered what dining options might be for large groups.

If you advise the Dining Room Manager what you would like they will make an accommodation for you so you can dine together.

MPBear,

We've gone into the dining room (on Mariner and Navigator) with a party of 10 and been accomdated without reservations.

Thoughout our last voyage on the Navigator we (Crusinfanatic and her husband and some non-LCT'ers) had a party of eight (and once 10, I think) every night and we lucked out having the Captian's table almost all of the 9 nights of our cruise with it's beautiful arrangement of roses and some really great wait staff. We had the same situation on the Mariner as well.

We never had problem on Voyager and often ate with 8 and a few times with 10 - when there were 10 we were in center of CR room and I don't like that area as it seems very noisy to me - I like the side location better -

On that topic, is it true you can now reserve the specialty restaurants on the website? That must be a little tricky, whether you have a group who all want to dine together, or you are just one couple who wants to "dine with others"

Agree with Kathy - we had a party of 8,(well except for the night that Lorraine, the Cruise Director joined us), and every night had the same table, but it was the Hotel Manager's table, not the Captains. Not that it matters, point is that we ate together every night with no problem!!! :D :D

If you plan on eating together as a large group every night they may be able to set up a table in one area of the dining room that is for you each night.

Many times on both the Mariner now as well as the Voyager last year we have large groups for dinner...8,10,12 is very common. Recently we've been doing 2 or 3 tables of 6 next to each other because it's so much easier to talk at the round tables. Also, although it says table for 6, 7 or even 8 people will fit with no problem.

The Maitre D' (I think Franco)on the Paul Gauguin was so great. Doug would count noses and go to Franco late afternoon and Franco would say "How many tonight?" Every night it got bigger and bigger until it reached 28 on the last night.

During our second week, it started out small, but each night got bigger and bigger. All you have to do is ask.

Just adding to all the yesses here -- we had a group of 8 to 10 that we ate with almost every night. They always brought us to the same table (table #9!) with no wait. And it was a sold out cruise.
