Thank you all so much for the kind words and support! I've actually had people approach me onboard the ship who have read about me on LCT - I feel like a celebrity!
I am getting ready to disembark on July 19th after two short months in Alaska... However, during that time we did see Hubbard Glacier calve more than any time in the last 16 years! This morning we saw two Black Bears in Tracy Arm.
Happy to report the sale of the my book is going strong; people seem to enjoy it. It serves it's purpose as a cruiser friendly guide. I was thrilled to receive an order from Captain Peter Bos of the M/S Statendam - he ordered books for all of his officers. Yippee !
FYI, in anticipation of my next book I am going to include more personal stories like the one mentioned regarding High Heels, the Rope Ladder and the Panama Canal! Please let me know if you have any personal favorites, case in point I forgot about that little episode in the Panama Canal. But I guess some of you didn't :)
Hope to be in touch via LCT.
Smooth Sailing
Terry

Hey Terry...we were on the cruise the week Hubbard Glacier was calving so much! You said on a scale of 1 to 10 our day was a 15! :app:
I loved your little story about the bear cub going around on the luggage carousel - I have the vision in my head and it makes me chuckle. That may be a good one to include in your book!
P.S. we really appreciated the little note card you left us!!

Congratulations on the huge success of your book, Terry! Your vast knowledge of Alaska certainly has enriched the Alaskan experience for all those who have had the privlege and the pleasure of cruising with you and hearing your commentary. I count my husband and I as very fortunate to have sailed with you on the Navigator in 2001. You made our cruise so very special and memorable.
Wishing you continued success!
Denise

Hi Terry, I haven't sailed with you to Alaska, maybe some day. But, I did enjoy your lecutres on a Mariner, SA cruise.
Your website is great and I have been enjoying your blog entries. Good luck with the book and I think more personal stories is a great idea, a wonderful way to show your personality!

Hey, Terry! How is your lecture on the LORD OF SIPAN coming? Now you know who McKeever is, don't you? My SE and I miss you so much. It will be a while before we travel together again since our next trip will be on the Voyager.

Terry, seeing your post brought back the fondest memories of our voyage from Lima to Buenos Aires on the Mariner a couple of years ago. You made the trip most interesting! I am happy for you on becoming an author and having your book published. I, too, love your website. Hopefully one day we will be able to be on another of your voyages. I wish you were on the Mariner on the November 15, 2006 cruise. Thanks again for posting. Deanna

Thank you for all you kind responses and feedback, this is exactly the information I need and appreciate.
As LCT members who know me, you are in the perfect position to give relevant "cruiser" feedback on my website - what else would be of interest to you and fellow cruisers (both first-timers and experienced) regarding information, topics, surveys, etc.
And as I intend to transition into being a full-time author/land lecturer how do you think I should better position/market myself?

Terry, ....would this mean that you'd move out of the Mariner (your home away from home)??

Hi again, Terry. I do have one suggestion. I think you should post entries on the blog every two or three days on a consistent basis. This will keep loyal readers and perhaps attract new ones. It might help your Google ranking also. Don't know if blog readership is a priority for you though.

Hi, Terry: I am so sorry we won't meet again on the Alaska (MUSH) cruise. Clyde and I have enjoyed your lectures on the Amazon and again Peru, Chilian Fjords (my favorite), etc.
I visited your website immediately and ordered your book on Alaska and will be sure to have it among my "carry-on" items August 30th. Thanks for so many wonderful lectures over the years. Jean

Terry: Don't forget the time in Alaska you and some "officers" went off in the Zodiak and the boat had problems. You couldn't contact anyone because you were behind some mountain ranges. That was a good one.

Hi, Terry
We were with you on the Navigator, Panama Canal Feb 25-Mar 12-ish in 2003.
Our aunt turned 90 on that trip.
Loved your lectures on South America. I'm going to go home and look up your website.
PLEASE DON'T LEAVE RSSC!!! How will I ever get such informative lectures again?
Bob was raised in Alaska. His family moved to Juneau in 1953. His dad was on the judiciary committee of the Constution for Statehood.
They also lived in Nome 1958-60, where his father ran Northern Commercial Company, and was one of two licensed ivory buyers in NorthWest Alaska. Then they moved to Fairbanks, then Anchorage, where we met and married.
I lived there from 1971 until 1995. Come visit us sometime and see some of our artifacts.
Frances

Dear All,
What great stuff! I am still onboard for two more days - already you've reminded me of things I really do need to remember. I appreciate the contacts; Bob and Frances, I would love to learn more about what was going on when AK statehood was being discussed. Any recall on that?
Fear not all - I am not leaving RSSC!!!! As many of you know I am employed full-time by the company. With all the new projects surrounding re-branding I am going to get more people excited about South America! I also hope to have more time on land which will enable me to not only write more books, and more blogs, but also maybe... have a dog!!! Those things many of you take for granted, we at sea covet like the cold, wet nose of your own doggie! Who knows!
As soon as I am settled back home I will be anxious to catch up. I can hardly wait to hear how the MUSH trip goes!
Smooth sailing! Terry

Terry, We were on the first Circumnavigation of South American on the Mariner in 2002 and totally enjoyed you. Look forward to seeing you again and to reading your book.

What about the time you smuggled a dog on board the Mariner as a gift to Captain Guillou?

Terry:
We cruised with you on the Mariner South Pacific voyage a few years ago. You filled the theater every day! Remember you impromptu lecture on geo caching - filled the lounge to overflowing. I think you told us about visiting a cache on Bora Bora.
If you spoke, we all gathered!
I hope we meet again...and I'm going now to look for your book!

Glad to hear you aren't leaving RSSC. Bob can tell you more about the Statehood issue.
email us sometime at bmct @ comcast.net
Or better yet, come visit. We do have a guest bedroom, and I'm sure we can set up a brunch. See the thread on DIM SUM for more ideas.
