Steve,
Thank you for sharing with all of us here at LCT. Please give your family our condolences. We never know what obstacles we will face in our travels. We only have each day as it comes.

Steve: So sorry for your loss a terrible thing to happen at anytime let alone when you are on vacation so far from home. I am glad you made it home and hope that you do get an opportunity to go back to French Polynesia at some time in the future.
Your pictures have been amazing.

OK, things are starting to settle down, so I was able to spend some time 'playing' last night. Here is a link to our first full day on the PG which was spent mostly at Motu Mahana. http://www.photoshow.net/watch/DW8Ig3WE Steve

Great show, Steve. We never walked the short distance to the other side of Motu Mahana. Now I know the views from there - thanks! All the rest looks familiar except for the rain clouds and the name on the smokestack of the ship.

I would have loved to have had a 2nd day there and to be able to explore the adjacent motus. It looked like it would have been an easy walk/swiw between them. As I 'explored' motu mahana I was surprised at how small it really was.

How beautiful!
I think if I had to pick my favorite day of vacation ever it would be the day at Motu Mahana. Perfection!

6 of us decided to go across the water to the motu behind the one they take us. Water only got up to our waist. We then walked out,(in the water), to the breakers. On the way back we came around a corner and here was about 10 RSSC employees enjoying themselves. All the ladies were topless but acted like we were not there. Boy did we move a little faster. Well the girls moved faster and the boys moved slower. :D :D

That was the answer to the survey I wish I'd made - that was the truth! I could spend a week beetween Motu Mahana and the ship without Raiatea, Moorea and Bora Bora (well, not quite)

Jim, we had similar experience, but in the kayaks that Dominque checks out for you, we went with another couple (the harpist and her husband on board) and raced around the motu..on the back side were Les Gaugines, all with just their thongs on, Jorge and I paddled much slower :)
and then our wives hit us upside the head with the paddles..just kidding
