So many LCTers are on MINT! Loading of LCT is dramatically faster now that so many are off having a great time on MINT and not hanging out on the boards!
I feel like the Maytag repair woman!!

Next week I get to spend a few days in Santa Monica with my Daughter. Ships will not be involved. But I do have a suite booked on the top floor of the Fairmount with balcony. So all is not lost. Sure wish I was going on Mint.

Have a wonderful visit with your daughter in Santa Monica, Chip!
Welcome, Sage! MINT is a Mexican Riviera cruise on the Mariner that many of our LCT friends are sailing on today. The cruise begins and ends in LA. When a large group forms for a particular cruise, all of us try to come up with a name for the cruise - an acronym. It's become a beloved ritual here.
We're so envious that they are all enjoying themselves while we, unfortunately, are left behind. So, we are getting a little mischevious (as you can read on another thread)!
Sorry for the confusion to our new members, such as yourself, Sage. A warm welcome, once again. We hope to hear from you a lot on LCT!

Chip, next week I get to fly across the country to spend a few days with MY daughter too!! She's at University in Vancouver, and I miss her. So, we'll be staying on English Bay in the Sylvia Hotel, and I'm looking forward to that just about as much as I look forward to my cruises. My baby girl.....almost all grown up.
So, all is not a loss!

Have a fun visit with your daughter, Chip. Are you driving to Santa Monica or flying?
We leave the next week for a Thanksgiving visit to Atlanta.

Hope all of you have great visits with your sons/daughters - and Donna especially in "Hotlanta", our daughter use to live there, so we went down there several times (its not far from Tuscaloosa for those Bama games either).
Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving, we are excited that our son, daugther in law and 2 oldest Granddaughters will be joining us, oh and my 92 year old Father too. The day after, out oldest daughter, son in law and youngest Granddaugter will come for a couple of nights, so I am anticipating with great excitement a house full of chaos!!! Sage - welcome to the LCT boards - I'm sure you will enjoy all the fun and informative people, not to mention some of the crazy subjects that get going. HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!! (even though I'm a little early)

Thanks, JoAnn. Actually, we're flying into Birmingham and driving to Atlanta. I avoid Hartsfield Airport at all costs during Thanksgiving! Plus, we can fly Southwest into Birmingham and save money!!
Sounds like you will have a crowd at your house. Have a good time and enjoy your family. Will you be doing ALL the cooking? Have fun!

Definitely quiet - we're all depressed that we're at work, not on MINT!
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Safe travels to those of you on the road!

Great pics, hopefully you can post a few from the ship. When I'm in Santa Monica maybe I rent a helioopter and have them find the ship. I imagine they would have to pick me up if I jumped in right besides as they went by. Do they take credit cards?
Donna I'm driving. I-8 to San Diego. My favorite road to see if the electronic speed limiter still works.

Ah, I-8. We know it well, Chip. Alan and I travel quite often to Irvine to check on his parents and other things. Of course we don't have a hot car like yours :mecry: . I'm sure you get there a little quicker than we do :) .

Hey Denise, can you meet me at Pier 92 in the next 10 minutes? We can change the signs at the pier! The Carnival and Royal Carribean are docked next door. We can send the MINTERS on the Carnival Elation instead of the Mariner! Ha Ha. That would fool them (not)

Darn, I hear the Ship's horn. I guess they all made it on the Mariner. That LA Traffic!!! I just missed getting to the pier to change those signs around. Bon Voyage, Minter's.
We better think up some new things to do for the week, now! How about changing all the posts here into Pig-latin this week?
