We arrived in Copenhagen yesterday after kind of a wild ride. The first leg of our journey was delayed enough that we realized we'd miss our connection in DC so Terry in Regent's air department moved heaven and earth to reroute us. That was the good news.
The bad news is that we were rerouted through London and presumably that is where our luggage still is. We've not seen it and the unsubstantiated rumor is that there is a labor slowdown at Heathrow. The agent for the company that handles delayed luggage for British Airways was not at all encouraging about the possibility of us getting it anytime soon, and maybe not even in time for the cruise on Saturday. This is a bummer. We're doing what we can to have enough to tide us over for a few more days but the uncertainty of the situation is putting just a bit of a damper on what we had hoped would be a lovely three days in Denmark. But we are cheerful as we can be in our situation.
I alerted Ngaire and it may be too late for most but if you are connecting through Heathrow please plan accordingly.

Marna Lou - Yikes! If there's any way you'd like us to follow up locally, we're here until tomorrow AM. Send me a PM if that's at all useful.
Cheers, Anne

Anne, you are a doll but unless you have a magic wand or are willing to do bodily violence at LHR I think we are hosed. George is making lemonade by noting we're no longer competing for hangers. :) Can't wait to meet you as you were our inspiration for HBB, the best vacation of our lives.

Marsha, what rotten luck but glad you are making lemonade from lemons. Hope your luggage arrives. Looking forward to meeting you.

Oh Marsha! What horrible luck. I am so very sorry about your luggage hassles. But I think you a very possitive person and you too will not only make lemonade but a pretty nifty caserole if I'm not mistaken. I will keep my fingers crossed that your bags arrive in a timely manner, or in other words, tomorrow. Have a super cruise and hope we cruise together again soon.
Fondest regards,
Cruise Crazed

The phone just rang, two of our bags are on their way to the hotel. We don't know which two but my joy and delight are beyond measure. If I get either of my suitcases life will be much better.

Marsha,
I am so happy for you. I am prepared to share clothing if people have trouble with luggage! Size 4 petite and size 7 1/2 shoes! ;)

Of course, I'm reading this sitting in the SAS lounge at Heathrow where we are connecting from United from Dulles to SAS into Copenhagen. I hope the 4 hour layover is enough for our bags to get transfered!

Great news Marsha, I'm sure you are relieved. Hopefully the other one will also arrive before you board on Saturday.

We both got our smaller bag. Mine has all my dressy clothes, one pair of jeans, and my warm jacket. I would still realy really like to get the other one.
Never again will I fail to follow Ngaire's advice! We did not cross pack with each other and I did not cross pack with myself. All my knickers are in the missing bag, shame on me! Listen to Ngaire, she knows what she's talking about.

I guess my prayers were ansered for you. However, I am concerned that you are still in "knickers". I certainly hope this is just a phase you're going thru. Seriously, it's so hard having a good time when you're worried about something as important as missing luggage. With luck the other missing piece will turn later today and you will be able to sit back and relax and enjoy your beautiful trip.

Howard: "knickers" in this context means dainty undergarments, not shorts. :)

By the way (and sorry to have posted this same thing in two threads):
To all those in Copenhagen tonight (Friday) before Fjords,
So, did anyone ever say exactly where (Tivoli Gardens covers 2-4 square blocks...) and when we're all going to meet up tonight for our pre-cruise get-together? I've searched all the threads that seem to be Fjordic and no luck.

I am so jealous of all you guys--I just love Copenhagen. On top of all the rest, the best coffee I've had in a long time.

Glad you got at least two of your bags. Last year in Copenhagen our bags never got on the plane along with about 4000 others because the conveyer belts broke down. Fortunately we were on our way home because we didn't see out luggage for close to 10 days.

Howard, you made me laugh out loud at that one. Yes, knickers is just a term for what you put in the washer on 'delicate'.
Pammy, wow. 10 days.
Since we sail today, we're going to hit the bricks this morning and do what we can to ease the rest of the journey without our larger suitcases. We imposed ourselves on a wonderful dinner with Marcie, Tom, Olivia, Joanna, Tony, Cindy, and David last night. It was a great reminder that this is not about what you bring with you but the people and places you'll see along the way.

Hi Marna Lou,
I wish you good luck today in finding the "essentials". At least you don't have to invest in the dressy stuff and coat which might be more difficult to find. And a pair of jeans is a very versatile piece of clothing, so you should be able to get a lot of mileage out of that.
Have a great embarkation later today and a great cruise!

At least she won't get her knickers in a bunch, she doesn't have enough to bunch together :)
