I was hoping that we would have some news today but unfortunately it looks like it will be next week. I'm trying hard to maintain a positive outlook and your support has really helped. Again thanks so much for your outpouring of support I do believe it makes a difference. I will post as soon as I know something.
Thanks,
Kathy

Kathy: I think St. Luke's is an excellent hospital - both Tony and I had surgery there and we were impressed with the doctors and nurses - I go to Mayo and all Mayo surgery is done there - Joanna

Kathy, I know this will be a long weekend for you...the waiting is always so difficult. Try to keep busy and whatever you do...keep the faith! We're all here for you!

Joanna-
His doctors are all Mayo doctors and when he got home yesterday he was raving about the nurses and staff there. Both my parents have had surgery there and it is an excellent facility. I've spend some time there with them. Unfortunately Dad had back surgery there 2 years ago and developed an infection in the bone - very sick (almost lost him) but there were able to treat it. He has now developed a very rare bone marrow disorder and a skin disorder that I personally think are related to the prior infection or drugs used to treat him. They are doing a biopsy on a lymph node that suddenly became enlarged and that's what I am holding my breath about. I am still very hopeful that all is as normal as it can be given what his body is dealing with. He's so young only 68 so this is even tougher. I will stay busy packing for our cruise next week as he wouldn't want it any other way but my heart is a bit heavy. My 16 year old son is down there with them and is a tremendous help to there - I'm lucky he's a good kid. I'm sorry if I am rambling but I've been up and down today.

Kathy - I would bet the enlarged node is nothing - let me tell you mayo doctors are extremely cautious and react to everything even the sniffles and an enlarged node sends them over the top - I know - - you bet he is young and I know the waitng is agonizing but just think how relieved you'll be when you get good news - I just feel it - keep busy - Joanna
