Hambagahle--

My sister and I will be on that cruise. Looking forward to meeting you.

I too am anxious to book some excursions.

Yep, I want to see the airfares as well. Of course, they often don't publish them too far out, since airfares are in such flux. I can't remember whether I saw a quote for our Rio-FLL trip in December or not on the old website.

re: registering for excursions - I could not get in to do that - our cruise is PG on March 7th,... when I called them, they were wonderful - they e-mailed me the entire list of choices - and all I need to do is check what I want - and can send it back to them.

Very nice response - and they said they did not expect the "already booked" area to be up anytime soon.....

again, great response - had my e-mail within a minute!

The Navigator cruise -- San Francisco to Alaska is now on the Regent website. We took the Mariner repositioning cruise to Alaska in 2008 -- it was wonderful. In 2010, they are adding 3 days and 3 new ports to the itinerary. Sounds really good!

That cruise looks very interesting. But I notice that it doesn't have the usual Alaska stops. It has neither Tracy Arm nor the Hubbard Glacier. But adds Valdez, Prince Rupert and Kodiak. And cruises Seymour Narrows. How does this sound to those who have done Alaska?

Seymour Narrows is a normal inlet to cruise; Valdez had nothing to see but we took a helicopter excursion to South Sawyer Glacier on Mariner 2001. Tracy Arm is an excursion normally around Juneau.

And this trip doesn't go to Juneau either.

Re the new website and excursions:

I called Regent's toll-free number regarding my May 1, 2009 transatlantic cruise, to obtain excursion forms by email, and was told that they would not be available until 50 days before sailing. The representative also did not know when the site would be back up for online booking.

This is a little thing, but given how expensive these trips are becoming, I am more than a little disappointed.

Has anyone taken the tour of the Navigator? It sure implies that all suites have balconies.

It's funny, isn't it? The banner "all suite, all balcony, all aboard" comes up, then immediately a description that says 90% balcony! Obviously the banner is generic, and they just haven't got around to customizing it, although they have a custom one for the PG.
