Seems weird also that you could take it multiple times. They never asked for an e-mail address or any identifier.

Also, if it is targeted then you shouldn't be able to click through from a link.

It was probably sent to all e-mail recipients - we've only got 7 days onboard, never acknowledged via the letter everyone was getting earlier in the year, so we are nobody on their loyalty chart.

I have never either! I was very "distracted" by the prior respondents comments. Sorry, but I thought the survey didn't look very professional.

It is a very interesting survey, and if they read them and act on the common themes, it could be really great. It is a very well-designed survey, IMHO, in that there was good opportunity to input your ideas and preferences, not just choose between theirs! Very impressive. Now, time will tell.

Got the survey two days ago and responded. I was curious that the first question asked what I considered to be luxury lines. and gave me about five lines to chose from. Problem was, two of the lines mentioned were (IMO) far from being luxury lines, and one I DO consider to have this status was left out. So I had some ammending to do! Other than that, the survey seemed useful. And on the same day, I received a RSSC mailing that actually contained cruise schedules and descriptions! Something the "image mailing" with the DVD sorely lacked. We retained this last mailing, instead of "trashing it" as we did the one with the DVD. And, today, I received ANOTHER RSSC mailing advertising a specific cruise. It seems like I receive an RSSC mailing about three times per week.

Folks, my wife Carol is running for our State House of Representatives -- for which she filed about two weeks ago. If I did not know before, I DO know now how expensive a direct mailing campaign can be! Some of her opponets have raised over $100,000 in contributions, while Carol has raised exactly $16.95 so far! So, as one with this matter staring him in the face, may I say that I wish RSSC would pull back a bit on both their direct mail ads AND their fares?

I thought it was an interesting survey and complete it, but agree that the sampling methods (previous comments, etc.) seem a bit unorthodox. I hope that they are serious about understanding their customer's needs and wants...'cause the research methodology isn't going to work if it's someone PhD dissertation :)

Received and responded. The unfortunate part was that the responses available were quite limiting.

I think the results, no matter what they are, will not be valid.

I took the survey and thought it was pretty good.

The underlying technology used in these dynamically changing questionaires in telephone surveys, web surveys has been around for a couple of years; there are quite a few software companies and consultancies that offer software toolkits or business services using these technologies. They are becoming increasing popular...and yes, the statistical analysis is a bit different on the back end.
