Cindyr, I had brain-block when I wrote that last message, because now I remember that you've been on the Voyager, so of course you already know about RSSC service. Your reference to being a "newby" (now I realize only to the Diamond) made me want to reassure you right away that your Diamond cruise should be wonderful. But you are absolutely right about the human side of wondering what we'll "get", especially when we are anticipating our trips so much. I guess the nice thing about RSSC is knowing that the staff and crew will work to find new and different ways to make us happy on each trip.

HI,
We did have a bottle of the RSSC branded champagned chilled waiting for us in our suite. I'm sorry to admit we didn't even open it!! We barely made a dent into our Grey Goose, this despite having hosted a few pre dinner cocktail get togethers in our suite (and using it for Martinis and Cosmos)
NOW what I don't know if it was standard or not...because we had put in our form that we were celebrating our anniversary (a few months late, though!) and one of the other couples we knew also had a bottle (they were celebrating an anniversary as well). I guess if I email some of the other folks we met, we will get an answer of some sort!
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends ~~M. Angelou~~

Gatowoman,
Thanks for posting your experience on the Mariner. Your point about the anniversary is a good one, so as you say we still don't know for sure, and the practice may not even be consistent across the larger ships in the fleet. We'll see .... Regardless, I'm glad to hear that an RSSC-branded bottle was waiting for you when you boarded. It is a nice welcome gift, isn't it?
