We've been assigned to cabin 911. Not thrilled with the number...bad connotation, y'know? But I'll ignore that. It's definitely an upgrade -- it's a Class E. I'm happy that we're not at the aft of the ship so we won't have to worry about the vibration. Are there any disadvantages to being this far forward?

LeeAnne, the folks who know this ship say you have done well and I am happy for you. In regard to the number - remember that it is just a number. Our daughter was born on July 13th and one of our granddaughters shares her aunt's birthdate. Some years the birthdays fall on a friday but they've all been good.

My son's birthday is on February 13 and when it falls on Friday, he considers it his good luck day.

And, I married Alan on Friday the 13th, a black cat crossed our path the night before and I think it was also a full moon. A rainbow appeared just as we were saying our vows. For me, Friday the 13th has been the most wonderful day that ever happened in my life. And, it just keeps getting better!

LeeAnne: Agree with Marsha - life too short to worry about silly connotations - you will have great trip and that is all that is important! Joanna

Oh, no worries -- really, I shouldn't have mentioned it. It was just an observation. I'm so excited at this point I can barely see straight! Ask me how many times I've tried on my formal dress? LOL! <img border="0" alt="[hula]" title="" src="graemlins/hula.gif" />

LeeAnne, there's an older gentleman who writes cruise reviews (can't remember the website or his name) but I love his descriptions of preparing for a cruise. His wife tries on all of her "finery" and models for him. He says it's part of preparing for a cruise mindset. Obviously, he is a very romantic man and he's well into his 70's...maybe even 80's. So have fun trying on that dress (even if you are going with your mother)!

I'm not gonna tell you how many times -- too embarrassing! ;)

I think that's sweet that the wife tries on her finery for her hubby. I tried mine on for my hubby too because, well, he's not gonna see me in it! At least not on THIS cruise. Hopefully on another one soon... He did offer his resounding approval. :)

I'm sure you guys are all pretty sick of hearing me obsessing over this cruise. I mean, it's not like I'm the only person who's ever gone on one! LOL! It's kinda like when you have your first child -- you just want to talk about it all the time and feel like you're the only person it's ever happened to, meanwhile all the other moms are sitting there rolling their eyes. Yeah, they say, just wait 'till they're teenagers. And here I am now, with my pain-in-the-rear teenagers! So I guess I know how you feel.

Anyway, soon instead of all these posts obsessing about all the little details of my upcoming cruise, I'm going to be posting what's happening on it. And then I'll post a review. And then...I'll start planning the next one! So I guess you're stuck with me for a while... :p

That should be a great location on the ship. No vibration, good ride and less spray. Enjoy! Jeff

LeeAnne, I really look forward to your review of your first cruise! George and I have taken more than half dozen cruises and each is still as exciting as the first. We share everyone's enthusiasm for their voyages, be it their first or their fiftieth. So chat on and keep us posted.

I, too, am really looking forward to LeeAnne's review of her cruise. If she can maintain this level of enthusiasm, her review is going to be a blast to read!

Thanks, guys! Actually, this isn't my first cruise -- I've been on RCI and Celebrity before. But I have no doubt that THIS cruise is going to make the other seem like entirely different types of vacations. This is my first "luxury" cruise! So I do still have that sense of being a first-timer. :D

LeeAnne,

This cruise is different. It's an RSSC and you've has all of us RAVING about our RSSC experience with you.

Anticipation is half of the cruise. And we all love enthusiasm, so when you post for your cruise, I catch it and it makes it fun for all of us, even if we're on another upcoming or none and wish we were.

Congrats, LeeAnne. Anticipation IS half the fun, and then I can't wait to hear about all the fun you'll be having onboard.

LeeAnne, I forget which ship you're on, but my mother and I had 911 on the Navigator on our Bermuda cruise the past fall. Yes, the number is a little creepy, but you'll never forget your room number! Actually, it's a very nice location on Navigator, somewhat toward midships. I think it winds up in the guarantee kitty because of the room number--otherwise it's a great cabin.

Hmmm...interesting theory about the room number! Yeah, come to think of it, I bet a lot of people wouldn't specifically choose that cabin. But I have no problem with it. We're on the Voyager, and 911 is at the bow, six cabins from the front, it's only two cabins away from the elevators, so that's kinda nice. :)

LeeAnne - You must be soooooo excited. Your long awaited cruise is right around the corner. I can't wait to hear all about it. Glad you finally got your cabin assignment. It sounds like a good location. I was in 802 on the Navigator (2 cabins from bow) and it wasn't bad. But you'll be a little further back and close to elevators. It sounds good!! And crys is right about you never forgetting your number.

Have a blast!!!!!!
