Another approach to something like this would be a 7 day cruise. 4 or 5 days going from Los Angeles / San Diego to Hawaii with a couple of days stopping at different islands. Then you have a post cruise of 3 days at a nice resort before flying back. Then you have the reverse of this for those that might prefer flying over and cruising back. And third option is to staying on and do the round trip.
What would be the best way to let Regent know we are interested in something like this? Have Ngaire and Brown & Keene Travel beat them up? LOL

I would love that option as I would like to spend some time in Hawaii in one of their beautiful resorts!

Jim,
I think it's 4 or 5 days just to cross from LA to Hawaii - Actually, San Francisco is closer to Hawaii than Los Angeles is!

I just received a survey in the mail from RSSC and I added a letter to it asking them to please look at doing a California to Hawaii cruise. Figured it can't hurt.

Jim, I got that survey today, too. There was a space on the survey where you could fill in what other destination that you would like to visit and I entered Hawaii, too.
I was too lazy to mail back the survey so I took the online survey option that they linked to in the letter.

Wow, I just realized that one of the segments on Silversea's 2008 World Cruise goes from San Diego to Honolulu:
30 Jan 2008 Wed San Diego, California 31 Jan 2008 Thu Ensenada, Mexico 01 Feb 2008 Fri DAY AT SEA 02 Feb 2008 Sat DAY AT SEA 03 Feb 2008 Sun DAY AT SEA 04 Feb 2008 Mon DAY AT SEA 05 Feb 2008 Tue DAY AT SEA 06 Feb 2008 Wed Hilo 07 Feb 2008 Thu Kailua 08 Feb 2008 Fri Honolulu
And it's only 9 nights, which would be doable for us "working stiffs". AND, Greg's birthday happens to fall during that timeframe...
Hmmm...intriguing!

HMMM. That is interesting. When I look at other cruise lines that do a trip like this they only take about 4 full days to get to Hawaii. (Normally from LAX or that area). Even if it was 5 days cruise, 3 days ports of call, and 2 days at a resort would work great for a lot of people. Others could do the reverse, and still others could do round trip. 5 cruise 2 ports. 4 cruise 3 ports. You get the idea.
