McKeever, maybe there's 2 different brochures??

After re-reading this thread, I've come to the conclusion that RSSC inconsistencies are at the core of a substantial amount of our discussion on several threads throughout the last few months.

We seem to all agree that RSSC is a first-class cruise line and we thrive on planning and taking our next cruise, whether it be in a month, a year, or two years down the road. I do hope that the Powers That Be who lurk on LCT appreciate and understand the frustration and disappointment we sometimes feel when continuity seems to unravel and consistency becomes a 5,000 piece jigsaw puzzle. Our forum is really many pulse beats of what the luxury cruiser is looking for and expects when choosing that special cruise and spending that hard earned cash to do so.

Yes, obviously there are. The Voyager is not mentioned in the one I mentioned.

We have just received the Grand Voyages 2006 brochure from Radisson. It is 100 pages long and really gorgeous. Marcie, I believe there is only one brochure, not two. It includes the World Cruise including adventures ashore, pre- and post-cruise land adventures and hotel programs. It also includes Grand Circle South America including adventures ashore pre- and post-cruise land adventures and hotel program. There is information on the South Seas Passage and Grand Asia Pacific. I believe it will answer most questions you might have. If anyone would like a copy, please let me know and we will certainly get one out to you.

I can understand your disappointment at the precursor mini-planner, however, I don't think you will be disappointed in this comprehensive brochure. This brochure is perhaps a bit later than last year, but not by much. We do not have any full brochures from Silversea, Oceania, or Crystal for next year either. Traditionally they release the planner first and then the mini-brochures before printing the more comprehensive brochures.

The Crystal Cruise Atlas has been available for a few weeks and is available either by calling 1-800-446-6620 ext 1 for brochures or filling out the form under brochures on their web page.

Susan, thank you so much!! I can ALWAYS count on B&K!! I called and requested a "real" brochure from RSSC so let me wait and see what I get. Hopefully, they'll send me the same one you've received...if not I will gladly take you up on your offer! Thank you!

I appreciate your update on Crystal. I had ordered new brochures in mid-June and they did not forward the Atlas to me, only the 2006 guide. I called today and yes the Atlas is available and they will be sending those to me so if anyone would like a copy let me know.

Marcie: I wish you luck getting anything from headquarters. I can't tell you how many times I have called and requested brochures and/or their publication Inspirations and have been reassured time after time that said items would be sent right out but NEVER were!! After over 200 days on Rad, I am really disappointed. We are now trying Seabourn this fall so will see how that compares. We also never get regular brochures such as we get from Silverseas, Seabourn and Crystal. And we DO look at them.

You are not alone. It has only taken me 5 years to finally start getting Inspirations. Janet was always so helpful, but now she is gone. If I didn't read on the chat boards that they were out, I never would get one. And yet my friends that haven't sailed with RSSC in 4 years get 2 copies all the time. GRRRRR!

We were also terribly disappointed in the South Anmerica "flyer." However the next day, we did receive the brochure with the World Cruise, the Circle South America, as well as this year's Pacific Rim cruise, etc. That is a brocure with "meat" in it. Unfortunately, despite the fact that we have sailed many times on Radisson (you'll never guess on which ship ;) ) we just don't get Inspirations (and yes I called and left our name and address for Janet more than once). Obviously that was a while ago. Maybe they don't bother to send it to anyone living in Florida; that makes as much sense as anything.

We seldom get brochures from Radisson, too, unless I go online and ask for them. I guess they figure we'll come looking for them when we want to cruise.

Editing to add that we get lots of emails advertising cruises we've already booked. I understand the mass mailing mentality but it still makes me laugh.

I assume you are with Ngaire's agency. I have a question: is it the TAs responsibility to get a client a brochure? Or does the line send them out?

I know I get stuff directly from Cunard, HAL, Seabourn and Silver Seas. We've sailed on all those lines in the past but mostly on RSSC for the past 4 years and we NEVER get mailings from them.

If I ask my TA to send somthing specific, she does but why don't we get mailing from RSSC?

No Inspirations for us, either. Unless requested, there are very few mailings received from RSSC.

On the otherhand, we recieve numerous mailings from Oceania, Silversea, Seabourn, as well as many other cruiselines - all attempting to woo us.

Add us to the list. I can't remember the last time we received Inspirations! On the other hand, hardly a day goes by that we don't receive a mailing from other lines attempting to lure us and YES, THEY ARE VERY TEMPTING! Someone out there sure knows we love to cruise! I am a visual person and love nothing more than to sit down with a cup of coffee (or wine) and browse through enticing brochures. Thank goodness we at least get emails from B & K with updates and good offers!!!

We don't get many Radisson brochures either. But, I do get email updates from them. Maybe by receiving the email newsletters I have "opted" out of the printed ones? Didn't mean to. And, it's been a long time since I've seen an "Inspirations" in the mailbox.

Somehow Princess has us down as having taken 20 cruises with them. We don't know how. Frank took one and I've taken NONE. We get at least something weekly from them, HAL, RCCL and Celebrity. I don't recall any RSSC unsolicited mail and every few weeks I will get an email with some kind of promo of the cruise of the month (my name not theirs)

Add my name to the above, too - not to mention a thousand brochures from Grand Circle (we have taken several river cruises with them, however) And now that you mention it, Donna, we don't don't get the emails now either!! Somehow I had forgotten that we used to get those regularly. Susan, thanks for the brochure offer. I know I can always get what I want from B&K but why doesn't RSSC send out anything on a regular basis?? More cost-cutting?

Maybe, but it seems that my Inspirations stopped arriving loooooooong before that program began.

I don't know what Inspirations is - a magazine??? I don't get anything from Radisson either in the way of flyers etc - but I do from other lines I have never cruised???

Well, it looks like most of us are in the same "Boat", we never get any mailings from Radisson, we do get lots from other cruise companies, thats one of the reasons we have booked 2 weeks in Sept. on the Legend, with Seabourn. We usually stay with Radisson, however the 2 for 1 was too good to pass up.
I don't even get e-mails from Radisson, whats up with who does and who doesn't???????

We haven't received inspirations in a while. It never has been very "regular." We get tons of emails from Radisson along with many mini brochures advertising sailings they are pushing.

I finally was successful at getting off GCT mailing list. Watch out: If you request one of their brochures, you will end up with enough to power the fireplace all winter. Now, we get all brochures generated through either B&K, Virtuoso, are Virtuoso TA, or Amex PTS. That's it. If I want a full brochure, I used to ask my TA but now find it better to just order on line.

See it is bad for me to be away from internet so long. I could have mentioned right at the beginning of this thread that RSSC always does a MINI brochure first for the World Cruise and South American and then a full brochure later. They are REALLY late in coming out with it this year but I knew it was forthcoming. Sometimes i think it is the side trips that take so long to get fine tuned and they cannot produce the final brochure without them. Glad they are out now and that you all are getting the new and more comprehensive brochures.

Thanks Ngaire! I just wish the young man at RSSC customer service and told me this. On the contrary, he made it crystal clear that the "mini brochure/flyer" was it, kind of a take it or leave it attitude. If I had known a brochure was forthcoming, I would never have started this thread.

Jean...............time. I asked for a brochure on river cruises in 2002. I have never contacted them since. The brochures stopped coming just a few months ago.
