Received this email from Amex yesterday:

Quote
As of March 22, 2014, Platinum Card Members will no longer receive complimentary access to American Airlines® Admirals Club lounges and US Airways® Club locations.

We recognize the inconvenience this may cause. However, you will continue to have access to a large network of airport lounges, including complimentary access to:

• Delta Sky Clubs®
• Priority Pass™ Select membership for entry to more than 600 participating airport lounges worldwide
• Airspace Lounges™ at select airports in New York (JFK), Cleveland, and Baltimore

This is a big cut in benefits; I hope Delta clubs aren't next; may need to rethink Amex Plat if I lose that benefit.

Dang!

1st United, now American.
Not good, not good. (But I am SURE that this has nothing to do with the merger.)

You'll still be able to get into the Centurion lounges with your Platinum card. We have a really good Centurion lounge at DFW in terminal D. Unfortunately, I don't think there's too many of these lounges, but supposedly they're adding more.

I think that Citibank who has the branded AA mileage card, might have had something to say about their continued partnering with Amex. Happy though to see the addition of the Centurion lounge at DFW since that is where we usually connect, but there are only 2 of them for now - DFW and Las Vegas, the latter of which seems like an odd choice.
