Any recent recommendations for hotels in central Rome? I just read through the posts in this forum and looks like the subject was last visited in 2010. I have a couple of spots in mind, but would love hear from anyone with recent stays.

There is a lovely B and B called Relais al Senato, on one of the side streets into Piazza Navona that we like to stay at. It's really like a small hotel with private rooms that are all en suite. The bedrooms have hardwood floors and the bathrooms are lovely. Once you check in they give you a key because there is not someone there twenty four hours a day, just during day time hours. They serve capuccino/croissants/fruit in the little breakfast room in the morning.
The location can't be beat, it's literally 10 steps to Piazza Navona. We like to walk to the Vatican from there.

I have usually stayed at the Intercontinetal De La Ville which is at the top of the Spanish Steps and next door to the Hassler. Always enjoyed but this year for a change of pace we are staying at the Albergo del Senato next to the Pantheon. It gets great reveiws on CC. I will report when I get back.

Yes! Helen - Please let me know how you like Albergo del Senato. It was already on my short list, along with Inn at the Roman Forum
