No problem with power Doug. Cape Grace actually even has a power strip with 110 and American plugs.

Singita provides the adapter in your room. Of course be sure to have chargers and appliances that have automatic switching between 110 to 220.

Rovos is the only one I am not 100% sure of right now without looking it up but I bet I have that information at the office or on my web site.

South Africa is so geared for tourists with all their camera "stuff" I dont think you will have any problems at all.

Back to the question of camera shake - stability and its effect on image quality. The dilemma is clear - most wildlife photos are taken at reduced light levels - game drives go at dawn and dusk. Long lenses are most useful, but fast long lenses are expensive and bulky.(My 300 mm. F2.8 is a real hernia risk!) High ISO films or elevated ISO numbers on digital cameras affect quality with grain and noise. IS cameras/lenses are a great help, but photos from a vehicle need more stability. I had previously recommended bean bags as an assist - monopod could work as well, but tripod, IMO, is not practical in a vehicle - no room for 3 legs on the floor! There is a matter of game drive vehicle etiquette (SP?) - when photos are being taken, to tell others when "body relocation" is about to happen! It is amazing to see the effects when a person shifts significantly in a land rover - the image in the viewfinder moves all over the place! If standing is allowed (not in the presence of predators) A simple "I'm moving" warning will be appreciated.

Selinda, rather be at Kings Pool but Selinda is where I am going. Going to be running around between game drives seeing all the camps I can see.

Sounds like a busy time - have been to King's Pool - a Wilderness Safari property as is Mombo and nearly as luxurious. Haven't been to Selinda - was at Zib last year (real name is much longer - everybody calls it Zib - it is a sister property to Selinda!)only takes 6 guests. We have been to Savuti Camp several times. Linyanti is a great game area. Good luck with the dogs. We are looking forward to the PG in November - a month in FP is a real change for us.

I'm getting all geared up for ROAR and the Baltics and have purchased a monopad, voice recorder, camcorder (http://www.dvspot.com/reviews/sony/hc90-review/index.shtml) and a mini-printer but no laptop as yet. (Printer probably won't go on trip but need it anyway)

Got a good deal on camcorder by calling Sony VIP service thru American Express Platinum.(1-877-216-7669) I'm quite confident that they will take care of any possible problems that could occur and 4 years of insurance, including accidental, was only $140.

And, since Andrea and Doug will be on ROAR I now know just how far I can push them before they are tempted to poke me in the nose after staying in their home for 5 days :>)
