Here's a note from Penny:
Thank you to everyone who sent me birthday wishes. I had a WONDERFUL birthday - how could I not?! Spent a great day enjoying the culture of the Moari people in the Bay of Islands, New Zealand. This was followed by a dinner and wine (of course) in Signatures with some new cruising friends. Was serenaded by everyone at the table and by the waiters and enjoyed a chocolate birthday cake that was served. On our return to the cabin I found yet another birthday cake from the captain with a couple of glasses of champagne. Great way to spend a birthday. Wonder what Ray will do for me for my next birthday!!!! Penny

Happy belated birthday! I am glad it was so fantastic.
I also enjoyed the story about the marlin. That is some big fish somebody caught. I remember at a Jamaican resort about a decade ago when someone did that, and there was so much fish that they not only served it to anyone that wanted it but sent a ton home with the staff. I guess they couldn't do that on the ship except they could feed them.
Terri, the social hostess on Voyager in October said they eat just fantastically back in the staff quarters. I hope so. Maybe they had marlin, as well.

The generosity and thoughtfulness of some people really floors me. I bought a pair of earrings in the Regent Store
for Penny and a couple we buddied up with in Segment #1 bought her a matching necklace. A World Cruiser friend gave her a certificate for a massage while on the ship.
Such acts of unprovoked kindness!
