Whoopee-can't wait. We just got our Chinese visas so we are legal now.

Sold the Saint Louis house....now full time in Rancho Mirage...(Bonnie is putting up with it, I am playing golf every day)....the Doc's are in and we will get them next week, have our China visa's....now we start planing what we will take with us....life is great!

Marc, I have your documents right next to my passports. No way I can forget them. They are safer with me than FED EX, DHL or any other overnight carrier.

Of course I cannot confirm whether I will make it on time since I am flying the friendly skies of the equal opportunity airlines "we may get you there but there are no promises of when, and we "hope" you will have bags. By the way even though we cant guarantee your bags, your carry ons are limited and you are also limited on liquids including toothpaste etc etc"

Ah the joys of flying. Remember when it was Lobster and Steak and everyone dressed up??.

In this case I am coming in a few days early so you are pretty safe.

As a side note: Lisa from my office was taking a small group of six to the Navigator last week. The flight coming into JFK was four hours late and they missed their overseas connection.

The airline was very non caring and said "well you cant go for two more days everything is full". My Lisa is a feisty little thing, born and raised in New York and knew just how to talk to these New York agents, and did not give up. Finally she found the "right person" it is a long story here that I wont go into right now. She mangaged to get everyone on a flight and got the bags. I was quite proud of her, not an easy thing to have happen the first time she has ever escorted a group.

The airline, it was Delta but as I said they are "equal opportunity airlines". It matters not what airline it matters who is behind the counter at the moment you are there with a problem. There are some stars and it is such a joy to find them.

On that note Marc, your tickets will be safely in my carry on!!

Ngaire, thanks for the story. Friday, Arlene and I will meet up at JFK. She will be coming in from Orlando and I will arrive from Boston. We have left plenty of time....but maybe not enough. If Lisa has a name of an agent that helped her out, it might be worthwhile having in my "hip pocket."

Off topic .. I am, to borrow a quote from the Seinfeld show, "mortified and stupefied" by Tryan's post about being bumped off the Voyager cruise. Has the travel world gone slightly mad? It got me thinking about the side trip to Kyoto some of us have arranged. It was tough enough at the time to get the rooms because of a holiday weekend in Japan. Hope we aren't walked. We'll be among the last to arrive, thanks to the screwy air arrangements designed by moi.
