Stan and I were with the Madikwe group and could not have asked for more. The luxury of the lodge was outstanding, food wonderful, people great. ANIMALS? Our off-road vehicle saw all FIVE of the big five. One late afternoon a group of about one hundred cape buffalo came to the watering hole at the lodge just after the jeeps had left for their game drive. They all turned around and hurried back to see them. What a sight. I understand that a similiar thing happened at Mateya with a herd of elephants. What exciting hapopenings.

Another exciting event was at the lodge in midmorning when seven elephants, three babies and four adults, came to our watering hole and took baths, rolling in dark red mud, spraying mud and water on their backs and literally wallowing in the mud.

We also saw an entire pride of lions one evening on our way back to the lodge. The adult females were hunting while the yearlings were watching and learning. We followed them into the veldt for the limit of one thousand feet and then left them. The lions were not at all disturbed by the vehicle.

On the first evening drive the spotlight caught a leopard and some of our people got great pictures of this rare creature.

All, very exciting!

Ardis

I'm SO happy you had such success, Ardis!

So, you had the 1000 feet limit, too. Not thrilling.
