Joanna, thats Engelbert Lanier-Wartenberg, the Hotel Director on the Voyager. He is a great addition to the RSSC team.

Yet another perfect day at sea. We started with our 2nd of 3 Cordon Bleu classes. We learned how to prepare a Chocolate Tart. It was a lot of fun. Our chef is great. Regent has really stepped up the service since going all inclusive. I have yet to see the "Regent" sparkling wine served at any cocktail event. It's either Vouve or Heidsieck. Even the pool bar is serving Santa Margharita Pinto Grigio and St. Supery Cab. Along those lines, our final Cordon Bleu class is supposed to be a real treat with some "top shelf" surprises on the class menu. We'll learn more on Sunday.

Today is our Kentucky Derby party. Everyone is sleeping in this morning in preparation!

The AMEX party is tonight. It's located in the Crew Bar.

After that... we Dance.. ole'

I retired that trick with a last performance on the Voyager in 2005. But for Engelbert - How could I turn him down?
Off to get ready for Derby Party.

I cannot believe it! I just wrote a decent length update of what has been happening and it disappeared on me. Now, I can't remember what I said!!!! /Anyway, I have been keeping a low profile for the last couple of days, but I have come out of my cocoon today. Actually, I have been swimming in the pool everyday except today(or should I say swaying with the waves). Today they emptied the pool because the winds kicked up a bit too much for safety's sake. As was mentioned earlier, the Kentucky Derby party was this afternoon. I am sure that Pictures will be posted so all I will say is that there was good fun, good food and a surprise visit from The Queen and her imposter. Getting about time for dinner and I remember anything else, so stay as green as you want because the seas hear are a beautiful dark blue.

We had so much fun yesterday. The Derby party was great. Betty & I were the hosts, but it was Tonya, Suzanne and Ngaire that kept everyone in stitches with the "Lillies for the Fillies" race. We even had a visit from the Queen just like the real Derby. The staff did a bang up job once again: we had authentic Derby Pie & Mint Juleps, and they made Derby Roses out of radishes for the decorations!

Later in the evening, we had our Amex party in the crew bar. Everyone had a great time. Suzette came out early along with Evil Tonya when they saw the crew bar has a pole!

Today is our final Cordon Bleu class. We can't wait to find out what they've done to "kick it up a notch."

The weather outside is still sunny. It's a bit cooler and the winds have picked up a little. This morning feels a little smoother than yesterday where we had a little more sway than usual, but still not bad at all.

Anyway, more pictures at www.worldflyer.net/tap
When I get back home, I'll upload a lot of these to the ofoto site.

G'day from the Voyager, mid Atlantic.
A couple of years ago a certain Anne and Gary persuaded us to join LCT. Since then we have met many great new friends, some even travelling out to Cairns to visit us and we have enjoyed hospitality with others in parts of USA. Thank you Anne and Gary.
Yesterday we attended our first Kentucky Derby. What a fun party that was, thanks must go to John and Betty for excellent organisation and to Nagaire and Ken who once again had their suite invaded! John's photos give a good idea of the fun we had.
Today, Sunday, marks a first for us on this cruise. We have been perfecting the art of making breakfast a couple of minutes before they close! We like to eat out on the back deck. Today we slept right on through...Oh well, room service coffee, fruit and chocolates will be just fine until lunch time! Don't you just love those sea days.

It's caviar, champagne and good looking crew everywhere. The Beverage and food manager (?) is tres good looking and charming as well. Doesn't Englebert look like Bill Clinton? Sorry ladies, he seems to be very happily married to a writer and television commentator.

The service is perfect. We ate at Latitudes last night and the food was incredible. Service has definitely reached an all time high, which i have to attribute to the wonderful senior crew.

We heard that they are arranging a special trip for our group later today to do some fishing. We are making such great time. Vintage port has been sent to our cabin and we will go shopping in Funchal for rare wines....Royalty never had it so good. But when you're with Princess Ngaire, anything can happen.

Being with a smaller group is great. We all have gotten to know one another better and to make great friends with even those who are new to us. This experience has been so wonderful. The sea is glass and the weather divine. Doug and I want to do this again next year.

It appears they are refurbishing many of the cabins. New carpet is being placed in many. Our room is really very pretty with shades of sage green and taupe.

John, today's pix made me laugh, the queen was hysterical! I have had the pleasure of seeing Lynn in action at the Youngstown Playhouse so I know that she has the perfect English accent :)

Andi, which Port are they providing? Is this in addition to your two bottles?

Glad you are enjoying the ship; we can't wait until we get onboard next month.

Dow's 20 year tawny and Dow's 1987 vintage..yes, in addition to our two bottles. This was courtesy of Ken and Ngaire and Stephan, the Beverage and Food Head. Anything is provided to make us happy. No requests are too much. The other night, the Captain ordered seared fois grois for all of us at his table.

The parties, the laughs, the games are galore...there is no time for reading.

We should mention that activities on deck include eating, bocci, baggo, miniture golf, etc.

Kathy, no sauce. Candied nuts. Today is a three course meal, so I am skipping lunch.

Well your Kentucky Derby was certainly more exciting than ours here alone!!! You TAPers have set a new level for fun - sure wish we were with you.

Andi - why wait till next year, do it again this year on CROSS! :D

John thanks for the great pictures!! Love the Derby hats - very creative ladies - and Lynn, well you certainly make a great Queen.

Are all of you doing the continuation from Funchal? Hopefully we have another week of great pictures and fun coming up.

John, your pictures bring it all to life for us!! What a fun party you had! Lynn, I had to laugh seeing you in my red crown (hope you know it lights up). Tonya, love the picture of you and Alan, he's the greatest! Makes me homesick for the Voyager.
A crossing is the perfect setting for such fun parties as you're having....who needs ports for such great times!!!

Sorry I have not posted much. Cannot believe how busy we have been from morning until night and we have not even attended a single lecture.

Yesterday, Derby Day was so much fun. It was a big success and I think everyone had a great time. Thank you Marcie for the props you allowed us to use it made a big difference to the event. Last night we stayed up way too late and did not wake up until noon. The group has been a delight and getting to know so many new people is always wonderful. I like these crossings. Never done one before and was not sure I would like this many days at sea but it has been fantastic. Looking even more forward to Lamb now.

The ship is really operating well. Food great, service, great and a wonderful staff. Dont want it to end.

Good news is that it is now long until Fjords and we can do all this again!!!

Be back later.

Those hats are fantastic! Betty, that librarian training obviously holds for more than one career. From books to bookie. I like it!

So glad you're having a mahvelous time. Keep it up!

Frank and Wendy - it's been wonderful having you on LCT! We will keep trying to hook up and cruise with you again. What's your onboard booking for next year?

Cheers, Anne
