We were away during episodes 8-10. Thanks to our VCR we have watched #'s 8 & 10, but due to the Republican Convention coverage on Tuesday we missed #9. (I was real bummed when I expected AM 5 to start and saw Arnold S. talking instead.) Thanks to this board I feel a little more caught up to what happened. So what happened on #9 besides Christian dating couple not shaving their heads and having to go back to previous task?

Oh gosh Kathy, I hope someone else can fill you in because I am drawing a blank. I do remember they came in last but it was not an elimination week.

I can imagine how bummed you were when you were expecting to see Phil and you saw Arnold :)

Kathy - the detour that they had to do (that Brandon and Nicolle tried to use the fast forward to avoid doing) was one person had to make 20 mud bricks. Colin (the one making the bricks) blew up at Christie during the process (big surprise) when his bricks kept falling apart. Oh, and all of them had to take a train in India and had to crowd aboard standing room only - some of the girls were reporting that they were getting unwanted attention on the train. Can't remember any other details off the top of my head, Kathy.

Thanks, Masaki. Karen, I think we are all trying to block Colin out of our minds now. I agree with everyone else here that he is abusive and poor Christie is an enabler. I sure hope she gets some help and leaves the jerk. Maybe they can split the vacations they've won and take them with different people. Only problem is I can't envision him agreeing to any equitable solution.

I've been rooting for Chip & Kim for a long time now.

Next on The Amazing Race

One Team gets lost right out of the Pit Stop and starts fighting with each other.

Several Racers have to face their fear of heights in a harrowing Roadblock that forces them to walk across a narrow girder high above the waters of Auckland Harbor. Will they be able to complete the task?

After 10 legs of the Race, one Team finally decides to use the Yield. The Yielded Team is stunned and furious. Will time lost during the Yield mean elimination?

One Team finds themselves stuck in the mud at the mercy of a stubborn ox.

See all this and more Tuesday, September 14, 8PM ET/PT

WOO HOO! Without a doubt, this show is the just the best thing on TV.

Mark kept saying, "he's gonna blow" and by golly, Colin didn't let us down. What a maniac!

Explain to me why Christie wouldn't help. All the other couples....one led and one plowed. What was she thinking?

Marc....abused partners often find a passive way of revenge - that's what it looked like to me!

It was a great episode - I'm just sorry ______ wasn't eliminated.

Marc, I don't think she knew she was allowed to lead the plow. They kept saying they must be doing something wrong and that the other teams must of did it another way.

I do think Chip made a big mistake when he raced Brandon to the yield. They all decided to yield Colin's team. I would of gladly let Brandon get ahead of me as now Chip has to deal with Colins revenge.

Did anyone notice when Colin and Christy had to give up all their money, Colin turned his in and then the camera man panned to Christys hands and lingered there for a minute. Was she hiding some money??

Karen, I totally thought the same thing!! I would have let Brandon go ahead & yield them.

Wasn't Colin just the epitome of evil last night? He needs some kind of mood stabilization medication.

We also would have let any of the others yield them. Too bad they could not all put their photos up since they arrived at the same time. Of course, then Colin might get a clue that the decision was unanimous. Did they just read their instructions too quickly? I didn't tape it so I could not review after watching, but I seem to remember hearing "one must lead and the other must plow".

It was really weird for us because our TV went bizarre on Monday and we were viewing everyone in various shades of green. We opted to see large greenish people rather than small regular color picture on our bedroom set. Our new television will be delivered on Friday.

Jan, sorry to hear about your sister. I hope she's doing okay.

The season finale is next Tuesday, starting at 9:00 pm EDT. AR6 was supposed to begin on 9/25, but CBS has postponed it until October/November. CBS will be airing it on Saturdays at 10:00 pm.

Great episode. It was funny that they all got there at the same time and they all picked the same group to delay. I guess that Chip and Kim can't use the dealy again?

You can only use the yield once, so Chip & Kim better stay in the lead, or Colin might yield them!

I can't believe how ticked off they were about being yielded - Kristie telling the jitney driver "they didn't play fair". They played smart!

Andrea, I wonder why they are delaying it? I have heard that CBS didn't want to burn us out with too much AR so they pushed back the date a bit. Too much AR? Never!

I am confused, how can the last episode be next Tuesday, the 9/21st??? Isn't that the same night that The Big Brother ending is also. How can we have the end be with 4 teams left??? It seems like we are missing a week in there. Or is it just me??
sis is supposed to be coming home this afternoon, if she is good! She wants sleep!!
Waiting for the rain now.

The BB finale probably airs at 8:00. As for AR, no good answer for you. The magic of editing maybe?

Glad to hear your sister is coming home this afternoon! We'll probably be getting the rain tomorrow.

It is a two hour episode. The first hour will be an elimination leg. The final three teams will then race to the end.

Did anyone watch the Emmy's last night?? Did you all see who won the Emmy? It was AE. I was watching the E! network and they had the cousins and then they had Colin and his girlfriend and the rest of the group but it was the cousins and Colin that spoke most of the time. Does that mean that Colin and girlfriend win? I guess we shall have to watch the 2 hour finale tomorrow night.

I heard that they won, Jan! And rightly so!! Hopefully this will give them even better ratings (they had great ratings this season, landing in the top 10 once or twice) so they will have many more seasons of TAR!

Next on the Amazing Race

The Final Four Teams enter the two final legs of the Race. Feeling the pressure, one Team lies to another Team and leads them astray in order to gain a crucial lead. Will it work? How will the last minute, cutthroat strategies affect the race to the finish?

Teams must push themselves through pain and exhaustion on a grueling 150-foot rope climb up a towering rock face that becomes one of the most intense Roadblocks in the history of THE AMAZING RACE.

One Racer has a severe emotional breakdown after a series of crashes during a final leg Detour.

The contestants experience Alberta, Canada by gondola riding at Sunshine Village Ski Resort, tee pee building in Bow Falls, and year-round sports activities at Olympic Park in Calgary.

After 72,000 miles of travel, Teams reach the end city. Every move, every minute, every decision can mean the difference between $1 million and second place during a very tight Race to the finish line.

Find out who will win on the thrilling, two-hour season finale of THE AMAZING RACE, Tuesday, September 21 at 9PM ET/PT

Was a great show. This ended up being the best season.

I must have been asleep for the "tee pee building." Either that, or it ended up on the editing floor.

One thing I hope they fix for next season is the taking away of the money for finishing last on non elimination rounds. Every time, the teams were able to beg for money so it had no impact. They need to devise another penalty instead.

I "heart" the Amazing Race!! Best season ever. It's a sign of a great reality show to just get better with age, and to make one wait with anticipation for the next installment.

Yes! Yes! This west coaster is posting right after it finished. Great show, a real nail biter but what an ending. Those challenges were so tough that it hurt to watch! Look forward to the Early Show interview in the morning.

Yes, it sure did come down to the final few minutes! Very exciting!!
Glad to see who won, I was hoping that team would win and they made it up and down that mountain in Canada up that cliff with some problems, who got the million bucks?? They are the ones that enjoyed it the whole way and took in the sights.

Yep, I stayed up to watch the whole thing last night! I could not turn it off.

Collin and Christi were just minutes behind Chip and Kim! Sometimes they edit it to make it look like it was a close race but they weren't even done celebrating with Chip and Kim when C and C rolled in. That had to frustrate Collin to know he was so close. I must say, he was very gracious at the end. I expected just the opposite.

The Continental Divide was breathtaking! As was the island where they snorkeled.

I can't wait til the next season this October. I bet they will have a hard time finding constestants as entertaining as this seasons but I say that after every finale and they always seem to come up with interesting couples :)

Editing to add,
I think I was wrong when I said Chip made a big mistake when he yielded C and C. That move might of just won them the game. It delayed Colins start just long enough to give them the edge they needed for the following leg.

We also were extremely pleased with the final outcome! Although I could never have done some of the challenges to make it to the final three, I think it is safe to say that no one posting here would have made the critical mistake in the airport that cost teams 2 & 3 the race. Didn't they ever hear about security measures taken after 9/11? Only when it is the airlines mistake can your luggage go on a different plane from you!

They may have been planning to just leave the packages at the airport anyway so they wouldn't have to carry them. I think it was the first season when one of the teams actually just threw most of their stuff away so they wouldn't be laden with the bags.

I loved that Chip & Kim finally ditched their bags on the run to the finish line! It was the best move for them to have yielded Colin & Christie. Gave them the edge they needed.

Okay, sarcastic editing moment of the evening. Remember when Brandon & Nicole were climbing to the top of the Continental Divide and he said something about look into the sky and imagine you're seeing Jesus & running into his arms to hug him? Then they showed the beautiful sky & clouds? Did anyone notice there was another point, probably when Nicole was whining about something, they showed another clip of the sky & clouds? That just cracked me up.

Amazing Race 6 - premieres October 2, 8:00 pm EDT!! <img border="0" alt="[vhappy]" title="" src="graemlins/icon_vhappy.gif" />

Update from the Early Show - Colin proposed to Christie and she accepted. Quote from another forum:

Andrea, here is a bit of the early show interview with Colin and Christie:

Harry: In that rice paddy last night? "I hate you?"
Colin: That was for the ox.
(laughter)
Colin: Christie and I got a pretty rotten edit. I'm like this raging lunatic psycho and she's this submissive, and nothing could be farther from the truth.

Colin: I want to thank Christie for always being with me, even when I'm a jerk.

Colin, down on one knee.
Others: WHOA!
Colin: Let me complete my life. (Puts ring on Christie's finger.)
Harry: Any idea this was coming?
Christie: Absolutely not.
Harry: We don't hear your answer.
Christie: YES! YES!
Colin: I love you, baby. (Hugs.)
