Jan:
I really can't answer your question. While we were driving to the various stops, I just looked out the window. I saw working people in office clothes and factory dress. I saw old women selling produce from cardboard boxes in the morning. I saw 20-something women in what I would call "almost" western fashion. I saw men either moving quickly to go somewhere or just standing around. I saw a lot of smoking.
My comments were based on an impression. I have no facts to support any conclussion. But even if they have a MacDonald's (which they do), it just ain't America. May I suggest that you (ie. anyone reading this) thank whatever power that you may believe in that you were born where you were. (And I do not mean only America. It is a big world and there are so many wonderful countries in which to live... I'm just not sure that Russia is one of them as yet.)

Finally just watched tonight - great show this week - can you imagine deciding on the spur of the moment to SKYDIVE?
Colin is the worst. He should be mortified that a huge TV audience is witnessing his behavior. Christie should just bolt in the middle of the show - but she keeps taking his abuse. If they win :( I hope she takes her half and runs. Argh!

I think that the part that bugged me the most was the part at the end where Christie says "I shouldn't have gotten mad at him like that". Yes, she should have!! She's an enabler ... :(

Sorry to say, but I hate to see women like that. He has her so brainwashed that she actually started believing that, as he said, she was making it worse and that she was not supporting him. Never saw him apologize to her, probably never does. I also thought he was pretty rough on her during the caviar feast. What a loser, he's one step away from being a batterer (if he isn't already).

Tomorrow night on Amazing Race:
Linda & Karen get into a dispute with a local cab driver, who gets the local police involved.
Infighting plagues a couple of Teams, who struggle to complete the Roadblock. Frustration leads one teammate to exclaim, "You know, I could do that much better than you!"
One Team chooses to go for the Fast Forward but is shocked to learn they must shave their heads. Will they do it and take the Fast Forward?
SPECIAL AIRTIME Tuesday August 31, at 8PM ET/PT

I don't think the time listed in the CBS email update that I posted above is correct. It states 8pm et but on the CBS website it says AR is on at 9pm.

Marc, my apologies...at the beginning of the show Phil said this season there would be 4 non-elimination rounds. They are definitely changing things around from previous seasons - all good though!

Fantastic show! I could not of been more annoyed by the Starbucks comment and I was pretty bummed out about the end of the show. Oh well, maybe they will go next week!
(not naming names so I don't give anything away)
PS Andrea, I thought there was 4 nonelim rounds too, has that changed?

Marc, I actually groaned when she said something to this effect, what's with all those things, those mosque things, they are on every corner like Starbucks. I think he's very nice but she makes my skin crawl. Remember the vodka on a sword challange and he didn't want to do it because of his faith? She got all annoyed because his faith got in the way. I guess she just rubs me the wrong way.

I loved the great time, 9 p.m. I got to watch. It was a great episode. As advertized, some one did do the fast forward and then did not follow through. I don't think I would have done that either. It sure looks like the 2 top teams are actually working together and having some fun. Surprise, surprise. I did come across a article in the New York Post yesterday that said there would be no reunion show.
RAGE OVER 'RACE' August 31, 2004 -- NO wonder they're not going to have a "The Amazing Race" reunion this season. The series isn't even over yet and many of the contestants who participated in the latest globe-trotting race are publicly bashing each other. More specifically, they're bashing Charla, the diminutive contestant who emerged as a fan favorite, and her cousin, Mirna, a lawyer.
"[We] don't want to be friends with those miserable people," say Colin and Lance, a pair of competitors tossed from the game who were known for being plain spoken and honest.
Another competitor, Colin (of the team Colin and Christie), though still very much a part of the show, tells TV Guide he also has no love for Charla and Mirna.
"We decided . . . that Mirna is not a rational person and certainly not someone we wanted to share our time with," he says.
In a recent interview, Mirna took a shot at Colin, accusing him of making numerous "threats and accusations" against her and Charla.
Colin denies he ever threatened the pair.

Kimmi, If you shaved your head, you would look like Demi Moore in that army movie. ![[Linked Image]](http://goldenscore.free.fr/images/gijane.jpg) On the other hand, if I shaved my head I would look like Curly from the 3 stooges. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.beckett.com/celebriducks/three_stooges/curly1.jpg)

Next on The Amazing Race Tuesday, September 7 10PM ET/PT
Two Teams go head to head at the airport, vying for the last two available seats on an important flight.
Realizing they have failed to secure a good flight, Kami & Karli try lying to ticket agents as a strategy. Will it work, or will they find themselves far behind?
An argument spurred by one Racer's driving develops into a bigger fight that tests one Team's relationship. Will it affect their performance on this leg of the Race?
Fear is not an option for several Racers, who chose a Detour that plunges them headfirst into powerful whitewater rapids

I don't watch the show, but I noticed the cousins were on Regis & Kelly this morning. Unfortunately, I was on the phone, the sound was mutted, so I didn't get to hear the interview. Even though they are no longer contestants, I take it they have become celebrities due to the show.

Betty, I tape Regis and Kelly thus I will watch that after I go out to dinner. Then I will tape the AE, I think they said they finally end up where we might want to cruise- New Zealand tonight. Jan

Great show!!
That bubble deal from the NZ sequence reminded me of something from one of my favorite shows "The Prisoner". Didn't it look a bit like the "guardian rover"??

To all: Because of a baseball game, the show started a little late and ended after my vcr clock stopped tapping. I think I lost maybe 5 or so minutes. There were 2 teams left. What happened?? in order to not spoil it for others, please feel free to private message me. I would not have asked, but it appears that there will not be a rerun on Sat!

For those that have not watched the show yet, don't read on.
I really like how they finally moved into New Zealand. I think I heard the twins say they hate airports now. I would also.
I can't believe that the first place team continues to get the free trips and this time, it was to Europe! I really enjoyed the surfboard going down the rapids. I knew that Chip and Kim would not use the yield or stop sign on the twins. He is such a teddy bear. He has a great personality. I was surprised at who came in 2nd. Was a tiny bit sad who came in last. Suzanne, I never knew that bubble thing even around. I wonder why they have not brought it to the US??? I hope it comes down to Chip and Kim at the end. I am pulling for them. It looks like next week that option that slows down a team is used. I wonder on who??

So may cool things on this show. The rapids and bubble ball looked like a blast!
Question for the people that watched in prior seasons. Did the first place teams consistently come in first place time and time again? I like how vague the locations of their trips are, Mexico or Europe or the Carribean. I wonder if they get to choose their specific ports of call.

I will try to research this a bit for you Mrs. M., but I do not believe that anyone has ever been as consistent at number one as Colin & Christie have been. What usually happens is the team that comes in first ends up being eliminated the next episode.
Team Guido from the first season did really well until they messed up by being cheap, and Chip & Reichen from last season did come in a first a lot.

Karen, and the rest of us Amazing Race folks. I shall be in Baltimore on Monday and Tuesday- taping is the only way I shall be able to see the show. I will be in a Baltimore hospital waiting for a relative to come out of surgery. I have no idea when I will be able to see the show. Go ahead and post and the ending. I shall not look until I see the tape. Jan
