Phil...did they fly it in on a Grey Goose? ;)

I'm sure when Todd sees your post he'll give you his "secret" Cosmo recipe.

My Cosmo Recipe is
1 oz Grey Goose
1/2 Oz Cointreau
1 oz Cranberry Juice
Shake over ice and pour into martini glass
Squeeze 1/4 lime into glass
Drink quickly and make another one and sip that one slowly.

Our group just got back from the Navigator NY to Montreal and had Grey Goose cosmos several times before dinner. We learned about them from Todd. Don't know if the proportions were the same but they were wonderful.

Fill a martini shaker 1/2 with ice. Fill with a good vodka lust above the ice. Add a couple ounces of Contreau (or tripple sec), cut 1/2 lime into smaller pieces and squeeze into shaker (throw limes into shaker after squeezing), add a few more ounces of Cranberry.....shake shake shake 10 - 15 secs.

There you go!

Thanks, Todd! :app:
Now if we could onlly get limes up here at the same time as cranberry juice - wonder if key lime juice would work instead...

Can you get Rose's Lime Juice? Or the plastic lime with lime juice? It makes the flavors meld together. If not try a lemon.

We can get rose's lime juice and the little green plastic limes. Seems somehow like cheating, though, but what else can I do? I'll pretend, and bide my time until get back on PG.. cheer

I think there are some laws about shipping Fruit and Vegetables to certain locales. TheCosmo I had tonight was with Rose's and Absolute Mandarin and Cointreau. Not bad. Not as good as all fresh. Not enough Cointreau.

Best Cosmo - Blood Orange Cosmo (their signature drink) at Jiraffe in Santa Monica.

I use netgrocer.com for a lot of things but they won't send anything perishable. Mail packages can take up to 6 weeks to get here :mecry:

Phil-

I am going to try to remember your post next time I gripe about having to go to the grocery store. Really puts it in perspective.

I was admiring the gorgeous pics of Greenland in one of our travel mags the other day - it was one of the feature articles. Didn't think about the inconvenience of living amidst such beautiful scenery, though. :(

Hang in there - September is coming....

Todd,

I received my new Conde Naste this weekend, and came upon this - Grey Goose Vodka's Tastemakers Getaway Sweepstakes. You can submit your dynamite Cosmo recipe and win a trip to Miami.

Funny this should surface. We made cosmos over the weekend and used an all-natural cranberry juice. Turns out that cranberry juice is one of those things that's better adulterated. It wasn't even the right color.

Somehow we managed to drink every drop, though. We couldn't stand to waste the vodka.

Oh I made Cosmos last night (no surprise!). I always use Ocean Spray Cranberry juice. Speaking of Cranberry juice.....it's a hard commodity to find in places like Europe.

Ocean Spray makes juice boxes that are just the right size for travel and a cosmo or two without wasting a quart bottle or the weight.

Hi,Todd. You got us addicted to Grey Goose. However, the last time we went to the liquor store we tried the GG L'Orange. Is that blasphemous in cosmos??? Marilyn and Joe

Well, you are all free to join us on the Navigator in Rooms 601 and 603 on Sept 27th for Frank's Birthday party. The Cosmos will be flowing and the appetizers delightful. JoAnn, I hope you won't mind a few party crashers. We will be in Charlottestown, Prince Edwards Island. But if anyone does care to join us on this cruise, I will make a special Cosmo Party in their honor!
