Just wanted to let you all know that I found a new job this week. <img border="0" alt="[vhappy]" title="" src="graemlins/icon_vhappy.gif" />
Things really took off after the New Year, and I spent most of last week on the phone with pre-interviews, or out on actual interviews.
I had some really great interviews, and a couple of different offers, but decided to accept a job in an entirely new field for me, investment management. I start on Tuesday!
Thanks for all of your support and advice. It took a couple of weeks after I was laid off, but I realized it was for the best, and it was time for a job that was more challenging.

I knew it would happen fast for you. :) Now, y'all gotta start sending positive vibes out for me -- I'm waiting on pins and needles to find out if I got the job I interviewed for right before the holidays. The hiring manager has been out of town for the last two weeks, and returns on Tuesday. I'm hoping he will have made a decision and I will hear one way or another. I can't help but feel like I have a really good shot at this -- I know that he called at least one of my references, who raved about me to him. And you don't usually check references unless the person's at the top of the short list, right? LeeAnne, I was wondering if you'd heard anything yet. I agree, they don't usually check references unless they really want to hire you. Keep me up to date - I'm sure Tuesday can't come soon enough for you!
