Thanks for the report...glad to hear you had a memorable visit in Guatemala! Yes Guatemalan jade is world famous and in some circles the most prized, especially the recently discovered lavender viens...the majority found in my home state of Zacapa! Too bad the stop in San Andres was short, because it is really beautiful!

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends ~~M. Angelou~~
