January 8: Mikkelsen Harbour
Unfortunately no sun and a little hazy, plus light rain. In the sun this is a beautiful spot but with the weather we had it was not really obvious how delightful a bay this really is at times. Short ride to land and there were Weddell Seals close to where we debarked. The path through the snow was pretty evident and it got a little deep at times. Going uphill was the hardest, but definitely doable. It was fun to watch the Gentoo penguins collecting peebles for their nest and one penguin stealing from another penguin. Some of the seals were making the way down to the sea which was enjoyable to watch.
