Our next stop on our tour was the Royal Regalia museum, full of ceremonial items including huge chariots constructed for inaugural parades and various anniversaries of the current Sultan’s rule, a reconstruction of the golden royal hall, gifts given by various heads of state and other historical and cultural items.

This is a country that loves pomp and circumstance where money is no object. Our guide pointed out that most items were used only once. No photos were allowed in the galleries, so these were taken in the entrance hall.
