LAST EVENING DRIVE

Before lunch we played our first game of cards. We decided we needed to play hearts in the bush.

The game drive started out slow. We visited the water pan and saw seven giraffe. We must have just just missed them drinking. After spending a little time with the giraffe we headed off in search of springbok and brown hyena. We are in an entirely different area that is very barren. A group of impala gave us a great show with the males chasing each other and the females. I always enjoy watching chasing impala.

We arrived at the hyena den and no baby hyena in sight. I am sitting in the vehicle with zebra around watching everyone getting a sundowner and writing this post. Off to the brown hyena den. Kim saw the baby hyena run back into the den. We waited for a while and then started back.

We saw springbok right next to the road and got some great shots. A few zebras and antelope on the way back.

Right at the lodge. BROWN HYENA were spotted. Our vehicle got a pretty good look at them in the spotlight. There were two of them. The other vehicle came back and got a quick glimpse. Not the best sighting BUT we did end with brown hyena.

Last drive tomorrow.
