Ho-Down, Fiesta, Hee Haw and now ????

Back by popular demand we are planning another Regent/Brown and Keene event for October 17, 2015. We wanted to post this early so people can get FF mile tickets AND we need a NAME for the event. So can you all put your brains in gear and get me a great name please?

WAIT LIST
For all previous events, Ho-Down, Fiesta and Hee Haw we had a waitlist and some could not attend. First come first served is not really fair and that we need to have some parameters for attendance. It has been very difficult and uncomfortable for me to have to say NO to people who want to come in the past. Not a great program if I upset my clients! So some parameters were decided in discussions with Regent.

In order to attend you need to be a past Regent Guest or have a cruise booked on Regent and be a current BK client. Email me or post on LCT your interest in attending.

The limit is 100 guests plus Regent and BK Staff.

Remember the main party is hosted by Regent and Brown and Keene jointly however there is a cost to attend such as your airfare, hotel rooms, and if you wish participate in the optional activities the costs involved will be paid by each person. Things happen that prevent us from doing things we wish to do so I understand if your plans can change but please do not request to be on the waitlist if you do not sincerely believe there is a good chance you will attend.

However, if there are more than 100 names, in the discussions with Regent it was decided to limit the list to those persons that have sailed most recently with Regent.

I do not like this idea of parameters to attend as I know people I would love to have in attendance, but for various reasons are not travelling with Regent now. However, this event is a REGENT sponsored program and is a thank you to their valued and active guests.

Once we are at a list of around 100 people we will send an invitation with full details to those people first. If space is not all taken we then send invitations to people who were not in the first 100 names. Invitations will not go out until probably two to three months before the event.

THE PRELIMINARY ARRANGEMENTS:
Talking to people who attended HEE HAW they want to duplicate that same experience.

• October 16 – arrival and gathering in the bar for drinks. Dinner on your own, there are many restaurants in walking distance of the hotel.
• October 17 - the optional Saturday event will be a tour of Downtown Dallas details below.
• October 17 – evening event at Clay’s house
• October 18 – cards at Stonebriar Westin Hotel and optional dinner at Stonebriar Country Club.
• Golf on Friday 16th or Sunday 18th.

The party on October 17, 2015 will take place on Saturday night and will be held at Clay Keene home in Frisco. Clay has a huge custom made smoker/grill and will be cooking a true Texas Barbeque with all the trimmings. His barbeque is sensational trust me on that!

In his game room upstairs we plan to have a casino night with black jack, crap and a No Limit Texas Hold’em poker tournament, he also has a pool table. No real gambling but prizes for the winners. For those that just want to visit we will have the downstairs area to mingle.

We will have a roundtrip bus service from the Westin Hotel to Clay’s home. Executives from Regent will be in attendance.

REGENT BENEFITS FOR THOSE ATTENDING:
These details will be outlined in the official invitation.

Optional Event:
I had heard downtown Dallas was worth a visit. At first I thought why would anyone want to do that? So I took a tour of downtown Dallas and was honestly amazed. It has been completely revitalized and I think everyone will enjoy this short tour.

Saturday depart from the Stonebriar Hotel at 9.30 am. Arriving in downtown we tour downtown with the following highlights:

• John Fitzgerald Kennedy Memorial Plaza where the bus will stop for a short visit.
• Pioneer Plaza features a larger-than-life re-creation of a cattle drive in bronze, with Texas Longhorn Steers being driven by three skilled cowboys astride horses following the Shawnee Trail through Dallas. A wonderful photo opportunity. The bus will stop for a short visit.
Images for the Long Horn Sculptures
• The new arts district with some stunning architecture.
• Downtown Dallas is really a stunning city now and well worth a visit.
• At approximately noon we will end the tour at Klyde Warren Park.

Klyde Warren Park
This is a new park that has been built on top of a major freeway. This park hosts community activities and concerts. Here we will have about one hour for lunch. There are various food options. Food trucks for those that want to experience a food truck lunch, and there is a very good restaurant with an extensive menu for a sit down lunch. Directly across the street is the Dallas Museum of Fine Arts with no entry charge. This area gives a great view of some of the new sky scrapers in Dallas.

Turtle Creek
Departing after lunch we will drive home via Turtle Creek a very old and exclusive area of Dallas where you can see some very large houses in a beautiful landscaped setting.

Brown and Keene new offices- we hope the building will be finished.
Our last stop will be at the new Brown and Keene offices for a quick coffee and dessert. This is just a short distance from the Westin Stonebriar Hotel. Returning to the hotel approximately 2.00 – 2.30 pm.

Golf tournament at the Stonebriar Country Club
Date and time to be determined.

Possibly a dinner on Sunday night at the Stonebriar Country Club
Depending on how many stay over and wish to attend this on Sunday. This time we will do a sit down dinner not a buffet.

Pooch and Hearts tournament
On Sunday afternoon at the Westin Stonebriar Hotel we will have pooch and hearts play.

Accommodations at the Stonebriar Westin Hotel, Frisco, Texas
In 2012 we found the Westin Hotels run specials and it is usually best for everyone to make their own booking. The “group” rate was not as good as the specials they run. The Westin is also a Starwood Property so some may use Starwood Points or Points plus cash.

The hotel is right next to Stonebriar Country Club and the golfers and those staying for the Sunday night dinner can walk to the Country Club so no transportation necessary. Plus it is about 2 -3 miles from Clay’s house and a just a few minutes from our new offices.

So those are the preliminary details.
• I need those brains working for a GREAT name for this event.
• Those that want to attend and be put on the waitlist post here or email their Brown and Keene consultant.
