To answer the question about humidity, it's much more humid here than what we're used to, but not nearly as hot so we've kind of enjoyed the weather. Singapore had overcast skys the whole time we were there, so it wasn't too bad at all. I'm sure some would disagree that the weather was good, but we're really used to hot, hot, hot. We did take the tram at the Night Safari and loved it. We also took a bum boat ride up the Singapore River. We missed going to the Asian Civilization Museum because it was closed when we were there.
We had two great sea days and enjoyed having dinner with Jan and Fred. We arrived bright and early in Bali yesterday (yuck, I had to get up at 6:00 am). Bali is a beautiful island, but bigger than I had imagined --it seemed like we had to drive forever between stops on our tour. We took one of the ships tours and the highlight was a trip to a Hindu Temple. They were having a celebration there, so we got to watch the Balinese dancers in their fabulous costumes and hear the monks playing beautiful exotic music. We also went to a theater and watched a wonderful Balinese play about good and evil (of course the good guys won in the end). They also had great costumes and it was lots of fun. Of course we also got lots of time for shopping for wood carvings, silver, etc. Jerry caught a bad cold somewhere along the way, so we laid low last night and went to La Veranda for dinner. He's feeling much better today. It's a good thing, because today we're in Komodo --he wouldn't have wanted to miss that! We took a short hike with a guide at the national park and were lucky to see two Komodo dragons. That was a real treat. Tonight we're eating dinner at Latitudes.
