Posting for Marcie:
Here we ( with Barb & Tim Davison) are in the Galapagos Islands on the “Silver Galapagos” It’s a first for all 4 of us and certainly an amazing place. As many travels as we’ve done, we’ve never been anywhere quite like this. We arrived yesterday but it was the usual type of afternoon with unpacking, muster drill, briefing plus handing out wet suits and snorkel equipment for those in need.
Today we had an “easy” 2 hour nature walk and saw so many gorgeous birds that are very unique to these islands. We also saw sea lions, one with her precious young cub nursing. Our Naturalist guide “Jan” (pronounced “Yawn” ) was great… knowledgeable, interesting and personable. Later Barb, Tom & I did a “deep water" snorkeling outing. Saw some gorgeous colorful fish. We wore wetsuits and were never cold.
Barb & Tim are fun, fabulous travel mates. Here’s a few land photos I took this morning with my iPhone It too bad we didn’t have an underwater camera for our snorkeling. At least I can share these.
