Sorry for the silly question.

When you have laundry done on the ship; how do the clothes come back:
folded?
shirts/slacks on hangers?
socks?
loose in a bag of some sort?

We'll be using hte laundry on our upcoming cruise and was just wondering.

Thanks,
Greg

Thanks Ted! Did your shirts/slacks on hangers pressed at all or just hung up out of the dryer? My wife has a couple of blouses she doesn't like to have dried at all...can that be accommodated??

Sorry to be a pest.

On laundry paperwork there are several options - starch or not etc I'm sure you could t ellt them what you want or do not want. Also tell steward how you want it just in case.

Greg,
What works for us is to have shirts/blouses on hangers DURING the cruise BUT our last laundry we have everything folded. It sure makes packing on the ship and unpacking at home a breeze !

I pack with things still on the hanger so I think I would request everything on hangers at the end of the cruise, too!

Agree, we've done this too Karen and bring clothes home in the plastic bags which is great too but requires a larger suitcase than we really need.

Packing lighter has been a work in progress but I think we're finally getting better and the laundry service sure helps.

Greg, unless you specify otherwise, everything comes back ironed, and either folded or on hangers as you prefer. They do great work, but I will warn you from experience that my impression is they launder with hot, or dry with hot. If you have shrinkable new stuff, it will come back smaller. Just a warning for your wife to be specific if she does not want it even dried, but just hung on hangers wet. i know what she means. Next to internet, free laundry and pressing is my absolute favorite perk, i find it much more reliable and dependable than the internet quality, actually, for my last 3 cruises! I am SO happy not to have to visit the laundry room ever again, however as nice as everyone is in all of them!

I love their laundry service. One thing to remember is that if you turn it in before 9Am you get it back the next day usually in the afternoon. The first few days of the cruise seem to take that long, probably because people need a lot of pressing done when they first arrive or have a lot of laundry if they have been traveling pre cruise. This seems to be the case the last few days of the cruise as well, probably because many people are getting a lot done to before packing to leave. Other wise in mid cruise it would come back the same day. Consequently, remember to take two sets of pajamas so that you don't end up with them in the laundry overnight. We were so used to doing our own laundry that we neglected to bring two sets of PJs the first time we had free laundry.

Yes, if you want to send them out, bring 2 pairs of pj's. usually laundry sent early in the am is back same day, but not always.

Wow! Thanks all. What a wealth of information you are.

Has anyone actually requested "Fluff" or "Air" dry for delicate synthetics (blouses adn such).

Ladies, ask the risk of being too personal, I assume you do your own delicates in the launderette or sink??? wonder

I do not send my undies to the laundry. Just do those on my own. The thought of sending them to the laundry creeps me out.

Since they are small and don't take up space, I take enough for the whole cruise. I usually stuff them into hats which makes the hats squish less in the suitcase. I think that is TMI wink

Karen - TMI indeed!! What about the return from the cruise? One assumes (hopes, prays) that you don't use quite the same hat packing routine. wonder

I guess that we guys are a bit less creeped out by someone in the laundry handling our boxers. Even though we don't yet have quite enough Regent days to get free laundry, we declared a few cruises ago that, "As God is my witness, I will never do laundry onboard again!"; and, therefore, we send everything out. Cruising time (meaning drinking time) is too precious to sacrifice any of it to the laundrette or cabin sink. Yikes, who wants stuff hanging around the bathroom drying, unless it's swim gear on the Paul Gauguin?

Cheers, Fred

We don't ever use the bath tub, being shower people instead. So not a problem to have things drying there or to pop them in the dryer.

It took me years to finally give my undies to the ship's laundry. Finally I got tired of washing them in the sink and said oh what the heck.... I've never looked back.

Of course Tom never had reservations, must be a girl thing.
