After a great flight, we are at the Yankee Clipper. I was really worried before we got here as several people said it was old and run down. They must of remodeled recently as our room is new and actually really pretty. No balcony, which drives me nuts but we have a fantastic ocean view.
The weather couldn't be better, not a cloud in the sky.
Now it's time for a nap before the precruise dinner! I can't wait to see everyone!

We had a great dinner, thanks to Marcie for the recommendation!! It was great to see old friends again and to finally meet Pam, Mark, Pat and Mike!
I just tried to upload some pix but the connection here the the hotel is too slow so I will try to post them tomorrow from the ship.

Thanks for checking in, K! So far, so good, sounds like. Yes, I believe the property recently underwent a $50MM renovation. You are probably boarding or waiting to board at this point (12:30 PDT). Enjoy! EDIT to add: Don't rush up to the pool deck Karen for the shuttle launch. It's been scrubbed. KENNEDY SPACE CENTER, Florida (CNN) -- The planned Wednesday night launch of space shuttle Discovery has been cancelled due to an apparent leak in the giant external fuel tank, the Kennedy Space Center said. More here....

They are on their way! The Navigator just left the port and we are watching it make the turn into the ocean. They should be in front of our apartment in about 20 minutes.

Doris, this is so cool that you can watch this from your home!! I know they're going to have such a great time. All these "on going" cruises that we were booked on and had to cancel.
BTW, have had phone calls from Marc & Harry (guessing you have too) and it sounds like they're having a good time on the Voyager!

Woo hoo, Kim stalked us!
Some random thoughts: Dinner tonight with Ralph, Carol, Betty and Larry was fantastic!
I have a new name, I am now known as The Whale as made $46 on the slots tonight! :)
I finally got to meet Susan Walsh after all these years, she is a very sweet girl! I also met the Maineacs Steve and Judy and they are a wonderful couple!
Tomorrow is our first sea day of two and I am looking forward to the pool and a book! The Captain said a high is forming and we are sailing into it so we should have smooth seas and sunny skies! So far tonight, the ship is sailing as smooth as can be.
Robert, thanks for the heads up about the shuttle. I was bummed when I heard as there isn't a cloud in the sky and it would of been perfect viewing!
I will try again in bit to post yesterdays pix from the precruise dinner and some pix from today as well.

Yay!!! :app: Great stalk, Kim; and great to hear from you Karen. I finally got to meet Susan for the first time, too, at the B&K reception. She is even more striking in person than her photos. And just so upbeat. I am sure you are all in for a GREAT cruise! Thanks for the seamail!

Love the photos. Everyone looks so good - like they are ready to party and have lots of FUN. Almost didn't recognize Mark Lurie. And Karen - you are already so tan. So many of us left behind are really really jealous.

Sounds like FUN is off to a fun start. Keep the pics and sea mail coming as it helps those of us stuck at home to feel some comfort knowing you are having a great time!
