Yes. If June did not have her permanent residency in the USA June would need to go back to NZ. At this time I could not go with her as NZ is only letting in NZ citizens and no spouse that is not a citizen. I would be denied entry and would need to stay in LA.
Also , currently June would be put in a 14 day quarantine and charged $3,100 in NZ dollars.

Air New Zealand is terrific. Even with all the money issues they have, they processed the refund to my credit card on 9/4/20 which is only a few days from my request for a refund. Very pleased there was no hassle as compared to some of the issues with the cruise lines and the US airlines.

Delta (WestJet) finally cancelled our 5 Oct flight from LAX to YVR on Saturday. After I received the email, I immediately called Delta. I found out that Delta has a new text capability so I opted for that. I got connected to a real person in two minutes; she brought up the itinerary and said I got refunded in August; I explained that only one ticket had been refunded not two; in two more minutes I got the email confirming refund of second ticket; and today, two days later, Amex has already processed the credit.
I am now whole (except for the stupid US Park Lodging booking fee of $150 I foolishly paid) for the entire two month trip we had to cancel. Now I am ready for the cancellation of the next trip.

Got emails today from two clients who finally got airline refunds for airline cancellations, Qatar and Virgin. Sorting all this out and waiting for refunds is taking a long time but eventually they come through.

This morning I received my credit from Delta for a flight that was cancelled in June. All this time I have called repeatedly and was met with varying degrees of helpfulness and often conflicting info on when I might get this pending refund. I was eventually advised that the hold up was due to my using a $200 travel voucher as part payment. Today in total exasperation I said with my best NY attitude “ Keep the f’ing $200! Give my back my $3450! “ To which the Delta rep said “Oh, ok†and the credit appeared on my Amex this morning! ———————- Helen

Love that post made me giggle - corporate nonsense. After yesterdays Regent opening I needed a giggle. But all went well just really busy and that is a GREAT thing. Making bookings instead of cancelling made us all happy.
I know there have to be corporate guidelines but I could NEVER work in a corporate structure, and never have. I would have taken the $200 out of my purse and solved the problem day one and not even told you I did it.
Going to have to run some contests for acronyms for the new cruises. Soon as the dust settles I will look at what i can use from 2020 and where I need new acronyms.

Anyone still struggling with refund/ credit issues? I used some credit from prior cancelled flights to book flights to NY for Christmas. Eventually we came to the sad conclusion that this was not gonna happen so I cancelled those flights. I was expecting to be given the credit back to my Delta account but much to my surprise I got the $$$$ equivalent back to my credit card! Hallelujah! ——————— Helen

Yes, I'm still going back and forth with Delta trying to get $ instead of credit. So far they're saying e-credit is my only option. The tickets were originally purchased for a trip to France last Sept. When that couldn't happen I added some $ and booked flights for the B2B river cruises in April. Now they've been cancelled so I want the $. I'm hoping that Delta will cancel the flights but it's looking less like that will happen. I bought insurance on the tickets through Delta (with Alliance) but that doesn't cover anything Covid related. Also that route requires medical certification from a doctor that one or both of us can't travel and it's hard to even get through to medical offices now. Advice anyone?

Right now, you can’t travel to the Netherlands for any reason, unless you live there. And then you have to be in quarantine 10 days, so if that continues, Delta will have to cancel the flights. I would just hold tight.

Sharing of information like this is such a good thing. Looks like the cancellation is in your future Sue and all will be well.
