Love the idea of meeting! Since I'm new to Regent I don't know anything about the block party. When does it usuallly take place? I'm game to meet wherever is most convenient for everyone.

On last year's SS cruise we arranged to get together for a drink prior to dinner to meet fellow CCers and it worked out well. But, again, what works for everyone will be great.

I would think that someone on CC would suggest meeting fellow posters. Am somewhat surprised it hasn't happened already. Wendy, any thoughts on suggesting it?

We leave a week from tomorrow! Wahoo :)

Tenny, I've been waiting too, since I don't want to be the one to suggest it (don't need the agro of organizing it, not a huge joiner.)

The block party started on one of the WC's I think. You go out into the hall and meet the people in your area (come as you are). Drinks and canapes are passed. Nice way to meet some people.

They seem to have done away with sailaway parties. I don't like being down in the hall while the ship sails away frankly.

I think it would be around sailing time.

But I could be wrong, they could have changed everything.

Sailing away is one of the most exciting parts of beginning the cruise! We love to either be on our balcony or on an outside deck (as you seem to enjoy).

We're in 722. The block party does sounds like fun but I wouldn't want to miss pulling out of port :) .

Would anyone be interested in meeting in one of the lounges right after the muster drill - just for a quick drink? I know we'll all be settling into our suites so perhaps there may be a better time?

Thoughts?

Okay, I pulled the daily Passages for the Navigator cruise out of FLL last December. I can't believe I keep these things, my husband thinks I'm totally bonkers.

It may be different on Voyager (and I can't find the ones from our 2006 Voyager trip), but on Nav, the muster drill was at 4:15. "all aboard" was 4, and departure was 5. That sounds about the same as this time. The block party was 6 p.m., with wine and chocolate served (it was the chocolate cruise.)

Now I remember--Navigator's departure was delayed for logistical reasons, so the block party and the sailaway overlapped. Sounds like they try to plan it so that does not happen, which is great.

A quick drink after the muster drill sounds fine to me. How about the Observation Lounge? Or it could be the poolside bar, depending on the weather--how's the weather, Betty?

Wendy,
The weather has been exceptional!!! Warm days, cooler evenings...Perfect! Who knows what a week will bring though. Cross fingers!

That sounds like a plan. You want to say on the pool deck, weather permitting, or Observation L if not, right after muster drill?

Tennisbunny, I know you post over on CC as well. They are now talking about meeting. I've mentioned the timings, and also mentioned that I'm "otherwise engaged" after the muster drill.

Do you want to include them, or do you want to meet them a bit later, or what? I'm not a big joiner, don't want to get in over my head on this.

Wendy, I think it might be better to meet at a separate time with the CCers (if someone steps up to suggest a time and place). I saw your post with the details of possible meeting places since many of those on CC are new to Regent (like me). I responded to your post but didn't suggest a time or specific meeting place either.

As of tonight I haven't seen a suggested time and I don't want to be the organizer either (do far too much of that in my job!). How about if we give it a day and see if anyone proposes a time? What do you think?

For you LCTers, my sister and I are both blondes and on the tall side - not too tough to miss us. I've looked at the forecast for the 14th (our meeting date) and rain is projected but that could mean most anything.

Tennisbunny, I agree. I was going to post and perhaps suggest waiting until the next day, since it's a sea day and we'll have lots of leisure.

I'm not quite as blonde right now as my avatar, dark blonde right now, and my hair is shorter. Other than that I'm medium height and (sob), somewhat overweight. Can't possible describe David except to say that he's not too tall.

I'm in a packing frenzy today, since we're leaving early Thursday morning, and we both have chaos and crises to deal with at work up until Wednesday afternoon, and a couple of Xmas parties to attend on top of that. Sigh. I'm going to need that sea day!

Yeah, I've just started packing myself since we're also leaving first thing Thursday morning and I need to get things wrapped up at work before leaving!

The sea day does indeed sound delightful. I had also thought that planning a get together with CCers on the sea day might make more sense.

I'll keep checking the CC boards for some kind of response.

So looking forward to meeting you and Betty!

t-bunny,

Larry and I are looking forward to meeting you and your sis, and seeing Wendy and David again.

You will recognize me by the silly grin on my face :D .... just glad to be back on the Voyager again. Seriously, I do look pretty much like my avatar photo.

Our cabin # is 1054.

The photos will help me to recognize both Wendy and Betty when we're on board Voyager in just a few short days!

We've only pre-signed up for one shore excursion. Just couldn't make up our minds on a couple of others. We're hopeful that they won't all be filled up when we get onboard.

Have either of you had any spa services done while on Voyager in the past? Anything that is a MUST?

Tennisbunny,

I try always to enjoy the spa services on board. :) It has been awhile since we've cruised on the Voyager. I loved my hot stone massage on the Navigator when we last cruised. Altho, I do think the spa services are a tad on the expensive side, the staff are well trained and the spa is nice.

Have never tried a hot stone massage but a facial and massage of some sort are definitely in my near future.

We're going to try and get a late check out at the hotel so that we don't have to wait at the dock for too long before boarding. I'm sure it'll all work out fine.

I had a really nice massage once, but I can't remember the name of it.

I'm going to treat myself to a pedicure. Too pricey really, but I have winter feet, and just don't have the time to get one here before I leave.

I'm also going to look at facials this time--I'm in the mood for a facial!

Two days until we leave for Florida! Weather looks like it will calm down by then (freezing rain and snow expected today, swooping up from the mid-west. Florida looks okay too, warm and a bit showery on Thursday and Friday.

Living in the north, just "getting out" at this time of year is stressful--we were flying to the Bahamas once, very early in the morning, and they couldn't get one of the engines started because of ice. Eventually they turned the plane to face the wind, and the wind helped them get the turbine going.

Thanks. We're low-browing it this time, staying at the Tropi Rocks, a 3-star. I'm not into the glitzy side of Florida. It's not too far north of where we stayed last time at the Sheraton Yankee Trader. I hope to do some shopping at Chico's on Las Olas Blvd, since we don't have Chico's in Canada and they make it tough to import.

This hurricane looks kinda bad.

I'll be keeping my eye on it for sure. I wonder if they would re-route us east if it walloping the Yucatan by the weekend? Sigh.

That might not be such a bad thing. Perhaps we'd be in Key West with the No-Namers after all.

Thanks Beth, if I can distract my husband long enough, it should be great. I'm thinking I'llhave to find him a bar nearby so he can sit and have a beer while he waits. Or maybe I can go out while he naps, we'll see. It's a bit of a hike from our hotel. But I suppose we can take the tourist trolley.

We have Chico's here in AZ so I'm already spoiled!

The mad dash will be on tonight to complete all the packing, etc. before we get on the plane tomorrow morning!

I worked at home today, which meant I could putter as well. So I've been puttering, and everything is pretty well together. We leave for the airport at 7 a.m. tomorrow. We'll close the suitcases in the morning. Luckily our son is cat-sitting; he'll be coming and going so we don't have to worry too much about battening down the hatches.

How great that you were able to do that!

Still haven't heard anything on CC with a recommended meeting time or place. I'll check email first thing in the morning in case anyone has a suggestion.

Am so glad that you and Betty and I have made our arrangements :) . Looking forward to meeting you!

Happy packing...

Me too. Yes, I posted something on CC today, but no bites. I guess we'll just have to bump into each other--I won't be surfing the web on board (I live in front of a computer, I will take a complete break from it this trip.) I will check last thing tonight, maybe in the morning while I'm checking our flight status. See you soon.

Okay, so I guess I'm the only one over there on CC who's been on Voyager. So I said Voyager Lounge, 3 p.m. Somebody can suggest a different time this evening if they wish. That will be captain's reception, so we want to have time to go back to our cabins and primp!
