Hi all,

Thanks for the welcome home. We are still trying to get our feet firmly planted back on the ground... These things take some time. In the meantime, we want to reassure everyone that Bob is ALL SETTLED back in here. Just for everyone's peace of mind, here is a photo of Bob with a local brew. No worries.

Debbie, I loved reading your travel log. It is nice to see Bob settling back into life in North Carolina, enjoying the local brew. He had a lovely trip!

Thanks again, everyone. Yes, yes we know that everyone loves Bob best. Not jealous! How could we be with that little fuzzface, sense of adventure and the constant quest for new beers. Bob is the perfect travel companion. He gets smiles everywhere he goes. Bob is a little worse for wear after his adventures this time around, but he'll be enjoying a good long rest in his own bedroom for a while. I'm not sure we have much more to add to possibly the world's longest trip journal! Mark Twain's was shorter, but then he didn't have photos! If anyone has any specific questions that we inadvertantly missed answering, please fire away and we will try to help.

Debbie

PS. Bob does not love Carolina Pale Ale, sorry Holly Springs, NC.

Thank you again for the daily "fix". Seems those days jsut flew by here while reading tour journal.
Again, from one Bob to another, welcome home and keep enjoying the taste of beer around the world.

Sorry that I haven't said too much about the WC but it isn't easy getting back to reality after such a perfect cruise. Especially after Rome, we got free laundry , pressing and internet service. This being our 4th WC on Radisson (now Regent) we thought it was the best. We had 5 days of rain on the entire cruise and we thought the seas were as calm as a lake compared to last year. I was surprised that some thought the seas were rough at times. Captain Dag was as great as ever and had some wonderful surprises for us which Debbie had discribed. The staff and crew were as outstanding as ever. Some of the special events didn't work out the way they were suppose to but that is part of the experience of travel and, as we were told once by a tour guide, when you travel think of everyday as a happening. This cruise was a great happening and we hope to experience it again next year.Since we have been fortunate enough to have been to the ports before, the part that will remain with us is when the families of the crew from the Philippines were granted permission to come aboard the ship. Their wasn't a dry eye on the ship.

Sealover, Elaine, right? Thanks for reporting in and sharing your comments. I agree with you that the Phillipines was a very special experience. So happy I got to be there. When you settle in, tell us more about your views on the cruise, please!

Welcome home, Debbie, Clay, Elaine, Peggy and Paul! I enjoyed all the blogs and journals, (thank you Debbie, Doris and Donna) each giving the perspectives of different travelers. I watched that Philippine CD last night, and when I kept seeing one crew member after the other (that I have met before) showing off their families, well, not dry eyes here either!

Debbie & Clay - Pat & I were completely hooked on your journal and tended to go into withdrawal when you skipped a day of posting. You are remarkably adventuresome and self-sufficient travelers. Pat & I consider ourselves pretty capable of handling ourselves while traveling; but we would not likely have had the temerity to tackle the local food and transport to the extraordinary degree you did. And, of course, "The Adventures of Bob" was a highlight of your saga. If you will forgive us and recognize that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, we are going to try to find a similar travel companion (perhaps a different breed from wire fox terrier) who can help us pick out good beer, wine, and goodies at markets on our journeys. We will be on Voyager in just a few weeks for WAVE (Monte Carlo to Dover); and although Pat does not usually eat sweets at breakfast, he is determined to have at least one chocolate croissant in your honor. (I, on the other hand, plan to have one or two each day they are available, also in your honor - or is that just an excuse for me to overindulge??) Cheers, Fred

Debbie,

Thank you for all the effort you, Clay and Bob put into your journal so that we could travel with you and see the world from your viewpoint. Each of us, no matter the journey, has our own outlook on our travel experience - it's so personal. May you enjoy the memories of this trip for many years.

Thanks again to everyone.

Freddie,
You eat all the chocolate croissants you can hold in my honor. I'd be honored! I hope they are still good and available every other day. Bob is actually an airedale terrier. Bob and Clay and I would all be flattered if you found a similar, but different mascot. (With a different name. Too much imitation is just creepy!) Bob is a perfect ice-breaker everywhere. Good luck with finding yours and traveling with it. Have a great trip. Debbie

Debbie - Rest assured that we would not copy Bob's name. That would indeed be a bit creepy, not to mention that if it appeared there were numerous "Friends of Bob" on RSSC ships, we would all have to go to daily meetings on board as part of our 12-step program to beat our chocolate croissant jones. Cheers, Fred

Debbie, I absolutely loved your pictures. There are so many places that I know now I'll never get to, and you took pictures of many of them. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
