I got one - I thought the video was pretty boring though - didn't really say much of anything about the ship. Said reservations would open April 18 I think.

I got one, but the internet system on the ship couldn't play it. They'll probably bore us with it at Seven Seas night.

Too many people on a full ship charter wont have enough time to visit with everyone so I will pass on that idea. I am sure the ship will go to the MED and once a few voyages are under her belt maybe we will pick something to consider "trying" her out. We had talked about a "frolic" event but we need to wait until all the inaugural cruises are done and I think do something in the Caribbean. The trip would be about the ship as a destination not about the ports. Easy flights - just a fun big party. Once we see a schedule we can it all out.

I love experiencing new ships, the good things and the not so good things it is always fun! Maybe they will keep the good things about the Explorer and correct some of the things that most of us wish could change.

Steel cutting is not a particularly exciting event to watch but exciting to know the ship has been "started"

We still have our piece of steel paperweight from the Explorer. A fun Frolic type party would be great ... count us in when/ if it comes to be.

Tom & I did enjoy our Maiden Voyage on the Explorer even though there were some things that were a bit of a letdown from our high expectations.

A party cruise on the new ship is a great idea -- we'll be there too.

Since we didn't get an email from Regent (I guess one has to be higher than Gold to get one), does anyone have a link?

New itineraries will be out mid April is the latest word but that is NOT official so that remains to be seen. But I bet they will be out before I get back April 22nd. I am always away when things open!. The Splendor will be in the Caribbean initially and I think the Christening will be in Miami.

Those first cruises early 2020 will be higher priced and packed. Plus with all the hoopla be hard to get Regent to focus on an event for us they will be super busy with that new ship. The crossing from Miami to Europe is what we did before for Frolic but it goes the WRONG way where we lose so many hours during the crossing. That was not very popular so we think this time we will rule out the crossing as that is bound to be what they will do - move the ship to Europe. Plus Ken and I are already on the Mariner crossing in April, 2020 Rome to Miami.

So we think what we will do is wait and do a cruise in 2020 around Mid to end of May or into June. Depending on the schedules maybe a back to back again. Not as crowded or hot in those months in Europe. That gives those that want a shorter trip two itineraries to chose from and those that want a longer trip can do both segments. Hopefully there will be an itinerary with some new ports. Europe only has so many ports but just a few new ones can make a difference. We love Europe though you can go to the same port and see different things and not feel the pressure to see everything as you have been there before or know you will probably be back. We have not been to the Holy Land for a long time since NON TUT than turned into CLEO. That would be nice for a change but unlikely they do not do that route very often.

Then when the ship returns to Miami in 2021 we will do a FROLIC type event. That will be basically the same thing we did on the Explorer. The September European trips in 2016 and then the Frolic trip in 2017.

Events by Regent in Miami first, then a Caribbean cruise may 8 - 10 nights. It is all about getting together and the ship, not the ports. Just one big party. Saying that we have not actually been to the Caribbean since FIESTA so we might enjoy the ports more than we anticipate we will -we will see what develops.

I leave tomorrow for the Voyager. Not been on the Voyager for a while so looking forward to sailing on her again. Great group of people going to be a lot of fun.
